Damaged alloys

Featured Replies

Having earlier today praised on another thread a tyre fitter for doing a good job, my missus has just come home having had some tyres fitted by the same company.

Around where they have put the balancing weights there appears to have been let loose a three year old with an angle grinder. Pictures below show the damage. They have scraped away all the paint, it is down to the bare metal and it is very noticable.

I have also had a closer look at my car and the same has been done - though on mine because of the wheel colour and the location it doesn't really show up and as they are just an old set of wheels on at the mo, I am not to bothered.

What do people think please?

Many thanks

Mark

Hello Graham if you read this!

Go back and get them to fork out a wheel refurb

If it were my wheel I'd be asking for a new one. That amount of damage is not acceptable and unneccesary. :'(

Hope you get something sorted.

That is shocking and should definately be sorted out. That's unacceptable irrespective if it's an old set of wheels or not.

Heard worse than that this week. A girl in work's partner is a delivery driver and had two new tyres fitted on the back of his van (Transit). Went back to base, collected his load and went on his way. Going along at about 40mph the next thing he heared a bang and the arse end dropped to the floor. Both wheels had come clean off! :o Both wheels were separate sides of the carrigeway. They're still trying to work out what happened. Either some muppet didn't tighten the nuts or over torqued them (this wouldn't surprise me). I never go there for tyres because last time I went there they put them on back to front.
