Fabia 1 range calculator

Featured Replies

My vRS has just ran out of fuel on a roundabout. It was highly embarrassing. My range said I was still good for 5 miles...obviously not!

Lesson learned: Fill up sooner.

It took a while to start afterwards aswell.

It will, would be full of air in the system. It's only a guess, drive less economical near the end of the tank and it'll over estimate. I speak from experience

I always do up to 20 miles past 0! Still be around 1 litre in the tank (calculating from the receipt).

Never ran out of fuel though... :o

could of been worse could of still been at uni lol.

i remeber parents mini used to do around 60 miles when the range said 0. and on top gear that time with the race to blackpool in that jag i think it was they said after it had enough fuel for another 130+ miles.

dunno i never trust mine i always do around 20 miles with it saying 40 then somehow use about 30 miles worth in a couple of miles.

It's a good job the PDs are self priming, otherwise you'd be sat at the side of the road trying to bleed the fuel through the system :giggle:

I've ran the car on a range of 0 before and it was fine. After my parents bought me some fuel the range went to 85 miles, then down to 50 after driving just 5 miles. The range makes little sense, I think I'll just ignore it now and just use the fuel light to gauge when to fill up.

when i fill up the computer says about 470 miles but never see that tbh more like 370 - 400 and thats from full to the light

Like I said it adjusts to your driving over that period. So drive like miss daisy the whole tank, then do a load of town/uneconomical driving it'll show more than you'll manage because it can adjust itself quick enough.

Ran mine to 0 before and well past it - takes balls and costs alot to fill up afterwards :)

It's just pure stupidity to run it that low

Sorry but I don't have any sympathy for people who run out of fuel.
