Cracking work as always Simon

Keeping it within the forum and sticking with the Skoda marque, here is a detail on a Octavia vRS MK2:

May not be on here for long.........

Incredible as usual, I had a bash at mine a couple of weeks back with a Kestrel DA. First proper go with a machine polisher, results weren't bad to be fair. Made a few mistakes though, to much polish not enough work time, so next time will be better.

That is awesome work. You must feel pretty satisfied after doing these jobs.

You will always need to work longer with a DA and it may be searching for information on the 'Kevin Brown Mehtod' as I had good success with that historically with my DA, worth watching out for the new Megs Microfibre Polishing system specific from DA's, inside info both in the UK and USA looks very promising........

It's very satisfying which is one of the reasons I love turning such cars around, this one was particularly in a bad way and ideally needed 2 or 3 days of machine time......... :S

Very nice job looks like new

Unfortunatley there is a reason for my lack of posts in this area but on this occasion I have risked it, still here and still doing allsorts, just keep an eye out in the Showroom on DW.......

Here's hoping Kenny but we will see........ B)

That is a PTG (Paint Thickness Gauge), it gives me an idea of the amount of lacquer and paint on panels, showing me if it's being repainted or machined at some point, in this instance the car showed signs of both.

I have been using a SIM 180 but have just stepped up to a Makita 9227CB.

As I said on DW

Stunning

Who's your local supplier then? Wish I had someone close......... :(

Im sure you will of heard of them, Autobrite are based in Stoke and are about 3 miles from where I live.

They regularly post on DW and are a decent bunch of lads!

http://shop.autobritedirect.co.uk/index.asp

They seem to have there own product range so unsure if they are manufacturers as well?

Bought some Eurow 'shag pile' towels recently and they are FAB!

Wish they stocked Optiseal though!

Perfect then, good trader to have close to you, plenty of offers run on DW from them and also a wide variety of own brand products, don't buy much from them myself.........

Nice job Simon and good to have one of your writeups on the forum again.

Trust all is well with you buddy.

Yummy :)

Pinch Weld Adaptor?

Its a damn shame if the mods are removing your detailing threads as so many people enjoy them. I can understand that they may think you are advertising your business by posting these threads but 90% of folks on here would not travel a large distance to get a car detailed so i would think your gains from threads on here would be minmal anyway.

Come on Colin dont ban these detailing htreads please. we all like em !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Thanks........... :p

Thanks for the response Billy, I can't comment too much but a few things have got out of hand, it's clear some people don't like these threads and believe I should pay up as I do on DW, I have offered some form of donation to the forum but this was not well received, I also suggested I would organise a large 'Briskoda Detailing Day' but again this was not well received so I am just going to have to keep myself to myself, shame as I feel I have added a fair bit to this section over the years..........

I didn't realise that your threads were being banned! As you know I have loved them and hadn't seen anything wrong with them. After all there are people who post photos and mention that they are going pro (photography) and I don't think that is seen as anything wrong (I assume it is the touting of services that has been wrongly perceived as advertising, at lest that's what I assume to be the case). I thought your posting and great attention to the product detail and method, were really informative and the fact that we go to DW to view it means you are opening up huge competition from other detailers if you were really touting. Not a smart business move really. I know it's Colins site and his rules, but I feel that he has got it wrong this time, at least if his presumption is that you are touting. I feel you give more than you will get from Brisky :(

Sorry to hear of your woes Simon :(

It's cool, I can't really say too much as I think the title of this thread says enough, can't imagine it will be around for much longer now.......

Appreciate the kind words though........

Shame really but i know how you feel Si!

love results as usual mate  great attention and dedication.
