How Long - From order to delivery?

Featured Replies

A quick survey to see how long it took from order to delivery. Please give details of the specification and any options ordered.

Elegance Estate Greenline II, in white with optional sunset glass, park assist and auto dimming rear view mirror - ordered in week 7 and still no confirmed build date although the dealer says I should have the car for Sept, week 37 so a 30 week time scale (Not sure how this can happen if no build date!!). Is this about the length of time is takes as its to replace a company car which goes back next week and my company is considering cancelling the order and getting 'something' in stock within the UK. How long did other greenlines take to arrive....

Thanks.

The Skoda ordering and build date process is at best random and at worst chaotic. There seems to be no consistency as to how long it takes the factory to confirm an order or give a build date to the dealer. When a build week is given it is often changed at random.

I have just placed an order for a CR170 4x4 estate with a few extras and the dealer is quoting an October delivery. He showed me the Skoda 'official' forecasts which gave build week 37 but he did warn me that the date may go back by as much as two months.

Dealers are having a difficult time at the moment because demand seems to be higher than production capacity and some customers are not prepared to wait for several months and take their business elsewhere.

Skoda buyers just have to be patient!

Agreed that patience is a virtue, when it comes to ordering a Skoda. But how long should you have to wait that's the million dollar question. Six months is about tolerable, but nine - ten.....

Seriously considering cancelling the order unless the dealer can be more definitive next week, I would have thought that some indication of an expected delivery date was feasible.

Ordered mine, 140 estate with heated sets, heated windscreen and nozzles, steering wheel for bluetooth phone connection. It was built on 18th April and is now sitting in the dealers waiting for towbar to be fitted on Tuesday 17th. I have arranged to pick it up on Friday 20 May could have been the Thursday but work got in the way.

Is this a record?

Regards

205 days! Ordered end of Sept, picked up end of April... but it was worth the wait...!!! :DB)

Superb Elegance 200 (2.0) TSI DSG, EVERY option except panorama roof.

Ordered dec 3, 2010. Delivered march 16, 2011 :)

Mine was 10 weeks from order to hand over.

Elegance Twin-Door Greenline II in black with "hill hold" as only option. Order confirmed Jan 27, original build date June 30 but brought forward to May 6, arrived at lease company May 13, will be delivered Friday. Counting myself lucky.

My Greenline Combi Elegance (only options Hill Hold & TPM, Spare Wheel) ordered in January and took exactly 10 weeks from order to PDI.

I'm Dublin based.

Combi 4x4 170 Elegance. Ordered Christmas, dealer tells me it's due mid July. Heck of a wait and I'm getting tetchy.

One observation in the midst of all this depressing news around uncertain and extended lead times is that cars ordered in Eire seem to get to their owners significantly quicker than those ordered at the same time in the UK. So it can't be a RHD thing, so what is it? Different quotas perhaps?

It will be just seven weeks when I get the keys early next week.

Have been informed by the lease company that the build date is July - definitely confirmed. Not sure how they can be so sure, but heres to hoping. I guess I should get it early August.

Well, it seems my current scenario is:

  • Combi Elegance 1.8TSI DSG with a few extras ordered by me on 5th Feb and on system in wk6, with the (then) expectation of 8 weeks to delivery
  • During wk 9 I got the first indicative build date, for week 19
  • During wk 12 the build date on the system moved to week 20 (ie this week)
  • Yesterday my dealer told me that the date had been confirmed, so my current expectation is that the car will indeed be built this week
  • I have also been told to expect 3 weeks between build and delvery to dealer, so on that basis the car should be with him (and soon me) sometimne during wk 23 (6th June)

If that turns out to be accurate, it will have been just over four months from order to delivery, which is not bad compared to the waits of others on this forum!

I order my Superb Estate no sunroof but everything else on 30.3.11 this message i got from dealer 2 weeks ago:

I have indeed got a built date for you, at the moment the system shows your car will get built week 22 which in English that means week beginning the 23/5/11.

It will be just seven weeks when I get the keys early next week.

What engine, gearbox, spec and extras did you order?

Combi Elegance, 2L, 140 BHP, DSG. Panoramic Roof, Sunset glass, alarm, KESSY are the main ones.

I really didn't expect to get it until after July at the earliest.

I've just been given my build week today at week 33. Adding another 3 weeks for delivery will take my total time up to 18 weeks as opposed to the quoted 12 weeks.

13 weeks from sign on (I had to click on the dealers ordering system) to delivery. It could have been 12,5 weeks if he hadn't missed the brolly.

I've been told wk 27, so July for delivery, thats 18 weeks, very disappointing when I told 10 to 12 weeks.

Quite pleased with my lead times.

Ordered 24 February and was told shortly afterwards that build would be week 19. Just had confirmation that the build took place as planned and the car has now left the factory headed for the port. Dealer is predicting about the 8 June for me to take delivery. Can't grumble really, no being mucked about. Probably as I ordered petrol.

Car ordered: Superb Estate Elegance 1.8 TSi DSG in Steel Grey with sunset glass, auto rear view mirror, front parking sensors, uprated sound system, full size spare wheel.

Just looking forward to picking it up now.

I've been told week 32 now which is well in to August, which is after the holiday we wanted the car for, looks like regretfully I may have to cancel and take a Passat :(

Ordered 1.8tsi 4x4 twindoor Ametgyst purple. Sunset glass KESSY on 3rd March.

Just been give. My build week of week 27 add onto that the 3 weeks build ship and prep i am looking at end of July.

This also takes it over the 18 weeks, will I be entitled to the late delivery compensation?

Just contacted dealer build week is now at 25 (by my reckoning that makes it week commencing 20th June) If I am right should have delivery by week 28 11th July making order to delivery just 18 weeks (shame Skoda altered late delivery from 16 to 18 weeks LOL)
