Been into dealers today and ended up there for a couple of hours.

Found out a few things.

Local dealer has a file on their system containing all emails and scanned letters from customers frustrated and annoyed with the ever lengthening delivery times. Let me tell you at just one dealer it was a big file and some of the comments were quite forcefull.

One thing I did learn that currently the dealers are providing all the sweetners at the moment, loan cars, free servicing, discounts etc. As the situation stands at the moment with delivery times getting longer the dealer network have asked Skoda UK for an emergency meeting for discussing the current situation and for Skoda to put their hands in their pockets to keep customers happy.

Dealer have said once we go over 20 weeks they will discuss sweetners and maybe something official from Skoda.

On our delivery we have been quoted a build date of week 40 so by the time it gets to the UK that will be 40 weeks from order. Quoted time was 16-20weeks.

As for MY12 changes.

Ours is an Elegance but it now lists parking sensors as an option so it looks like they will not be standard fit on the MY12 Elegance.

The SatNav will be the new upgraded unit but also listed as a seperate part is a "Multimedia storage device" Maybe this is just the SD card with maps?

And we can no longer have the 4 spoke MFSW for phone prep, the order is changed to PL7 3 spoke MFSW with phone prep.

You are joking parking sensors are now option lucky I got mine when I did lol

surely if they were standard on your car when ordering then they should honour the deal regardless of when its delivered

Sweetners eh? Might be time to stick an order in just to get stuff for free since I want mines fully loaded

Chances are orders in before new brochure or MY12 starts production will have the full spec they will honour the options without charge,the sat nav is or will be whats in the A1 and Seat Leon copa it will be the Amundsen+ (RNS315) with SD only so no discs will come with the car, Skoda are making a right c@ck up of these orders this will impact on future orders for sure

All orders will be as per MY11 Specification as far as what was fitted to MY11 cars as standard and what you had ordered as options.

Where the options are no longer available you will see a free upgrade, exmples being MFSW's and SatNav etc.

my cars getting biult next week hopefully so which sat nav will i get? the admusden or the admusden+? dontt know if theyve updated them already or if it will be from week 22 on wards like the black pack

I suspect some of this is due to the earthquake in Japan, and they need to reduce to demand on the sensors, so what better way than make it an option. Yes they can go elsewhere and get them and they will have, but so will every other car maker who was affected leading to long lead times on the supply of parts as remaining factories now have to makeup what will be a large short fall.

Exactly. Yes it's nice to have it as standard on a model but the only reason I've ordered it for my vRS is because I've yet to see one without and it may put off people wanting to buy the estate in the future.

I've ordered them for my estate too, but in fairness - having owned several estates from Astras to a C-Class Merc, I've never had a problem reversing or parking one.
