Dog cages

Featured Replies

Anyone recommend a quality dog cage to fit a 2011 Scout estate?

Depends on size of dog. We have a border terrier & have a collapsible Savic cage that half fills the boot. If the rest of the boot isn't packed with stuff I strap it to the luggage points.

I believe some folk on here have more sophistacaed full boot cages for bigger or multiple dogs

Check out Barjo engineering.... they have patterns for custom fit cages, if they don't have one available they can measure a car and make one. They also have a range of ready made cages... they built me a very special cage to accomodate my dogs and very pleased with quality and fit. They also do custom fit dog guards and rear gates. They are not cheap but you get a high quality product which will protect your dog, you and also your car.

As above Barjo are good but a wee bit exspensive...Argos do them in three sizes and are very good :) Best deals to get are the ones supplied at dog shows as you can normaly haggle a good deal....bought my second one at a show and have had for over six years :)

K:)

Pity i aint still got the cage in the back of my ex police octy, but saying that it was an airconditioned unit and replaced the boot and back seats

Have you looked at dogpods.com?

I've got one with a middle partition and a bootbag underneath for our 2 rottweilers . Much cheaper than Barjo etc(£260ish I think?. Good build quality and lightweight.

Trans K9 are definately the best on the market just now. Well built, rattle free and keep all the doggy muck within the cage. Think you can buy full or half size. I have pictures if you need them, mune takes 4 dogs (2 Labs, Springer and Clumber) You will need the false boot floor though.......

Incidentally, I got the dog gaurd delinvered quick time from Skodaparts - fits a treat and by using a couple of the luggage nets on the lower anchors and shopping hooks at the rear the dogs sit back when I close the tailgate - result!
