Service light on 6K after service?

Featured Replies

My service light has came on 6k after my serviceon my 54 Vrs. My service book says my next service is 10k miles on from the last one or a year.... its been neither?

Anyone shed any light on any potential problems or should i just get it switched off and see how it goes??

Which poses the next question, can i switch it off myself or does it need to be done via computer/garage??

Many thanks for any help

Your service indicator probably wasn't properly reset

Refer to your owners manual on how to reset it!

Or get someone with VCDS to reset it for you!

Thanks for the reply.

Would be an advantage if i am able to reset it myself, Just wasnt sure if the light coming on early indicated any kind of fault.

Thanks again.

hold down the button just under the speedo, the one that resets the distance traveled, then turn ignition on for roughly 10 seconds whilst still holding, and it should clear

mines just done it and im assuming its from the service 20 months ago rather than the last one which i was a month over
