Is this the new baby Octavia?

Featured Replies

That looks like the lovechild of a threesome between an A4, octavia and golf.

That looks more to me like a photoshop merge of an Octavia and a Golf with a bit of something else unattractive thrown in.

It does not look like an advance worth spending any money on.

Some lazy rehash of old VW products for consumption in South America or China would be my vote!

Hideous.....

That was my first though also.

could be a foreign version of the jetta, never the prettiest car about

I think the jetta is better looking than the Golf IMHO, the new one even more so.

Well whatever it is it won't go in production this year:

The only new car on that list is the NSF - Škoda's version of the VW UP that starts rolling off the line in October. So this beast is only due 2012 or later...

urghh.... hope not looks like one of those cheap Korean things..... nasty

South Americans have these type of body shells

Ahhh, some good ol' Briskoda negativity! That car is just a mule, and may or may not be of a Skoda. Wait for the real thing!

A set of coilovers, 19"s and that'll be **** on.

.. Maybe?

:p

This might be the new VW vento for the Indian market ....

(We have a VW polo available here with a stick on boot and it's called the VW vento.)

It's priced just a notch below the Octavia II.( Laura in India )

The big hint here guys are the rear tail lights; very clearly they are in the customary Skoda C Shape...

Ignore the front end, they've used the Golf nose from off the shelf.

Exactly! A clever trick to fool photographers and forums alike.

They made something similar in Europe too - I've seen both a Polo and Fabia "saloon" near me in the last year!

Looks like this: http://briskoda.net/...ost__p__1227945 (open the "fabiaOct04.pdf" and go to p5) ?

Just do a Google search for "Polo Classic" and you will find lots of images of the Polo sedan for the current Polo and the previous one. Likewise for "Fabia sedan". Many countries (including peculiarly Ireland) prefer the sedan body shape to the hatch. Some of the ugliest concoctions however must be either this, or this or indeed this. And all French. Go figure.

I was amazed at the number of Clio saloons when I was Hungary a couple of years ago, although my last car was infact a Polo saloon. Massive boot and cheap to run :)

i used to own a swift before i had kids and didn't need a big car, it was a lovely little car, and i'd gladly have another, that booted one however is HIDEOUS

not to hijack this post ... but i too still own a swift >>> its a swwweeeet car. !

That's a very expensive and therefore unlikely way of trying to disguise a prototype or throw the media off the scent.

The preferred approach these days is composite sheets designed to cover distinguishable features, oh and some gaffer tape :giggle:

I do hope not... shapeless boring blob devoid of any sense of style... urghhh... urghhh and thrice urghhhh... It is so mind numbingly dull that it can only be a "spoiler" put out by a rival manufacturer....

Picture the nose of the Concept D on it and voila you have a pretty neat car to be honest. As with any test mule this is not the real deal by a long shot.

The plates indicate that it's registered in Braunschweig which isn't far from Wolfsburg. Perhaps it's got nothing to do with Skoda but rather it is a VW project with some Skoda parts to throw people off the scent a bit!
