Folks,

When I was speccing out my new car I noticed a varying difference in what was on the www.skoda.ie website and in their documentation as standard equipment/optional extras and available gear.

Front and rear parking sensors for example, I may have been seeing things but some places I looked that said the vRS only came with rears, others it wasn't mentioned as an option.

I am guessing cars for the Irish market probably have a few bits that are optional equipment where as the UK ones would have that as standard, do any of you chaps have such as list to compare?

Rear ones are standard as are auto lights and wipers...no 18's though!! Oh and you dont get an alarm!!! :( Had to have a clifford fitted to mine...not sure about anything else!!...When i was in sorting mine the managing director told me that all the skoda bods get together before the launch of a car and tell them what they want as standard and what as an option...its all to do with what they think will appeal and what will sell!!

different countries have different equipment levels. some will have it as std while others will have it as options.

some will not even get the option.

others will not have the choice and have it as std.

it all depends on the local skoda sales/marketting in each market (country/region) negotiating with skoda hq (czeh) the equipment levels, both std & optioned.

Cheers folks, that explains it I'd say the UK folk would be better placed to negotiate a stronger deal with the amount of sales they make?

Which is probably why UK cars are generally better spec'ed.

Think the end run of the pre FL RS was much better spec'd as standard in Ireland than it was in the UK, i seem to remeber that there was a whole load of stuff we got

1) auto dimming rear view mirror

2) Auto Lights/Wipers

3) Rear parking sensors

4)full size spare

5) Maxidot

6)17" alloys

7) Bluetooth

8) Storage box under passenger seat.

Not sure if the UK cars has anything that I may have left out,I am just enjoying what is under the bonnet to think about the other stuff

1 and 5 were extras for me when I ordered mine
