All superpro'd up

Featured Replies

Been on with this for a few days.

Got the anti lift console bushes in too. Definately feels better than my powerflex/cupra console duo

Finally finished to rear beam tonight.

Nice one. Where did you get the anti-lift from? Reckon it's worth doing even though I've only had the duo in for 3,000 miles?

SuperPro do one SPF 3273K ani-lift console bush kit........anti lift kits are for lowered cars with stiff suspension as it removes the pre-load on the suspension reducing hop and skip of the inside wheel on corners....resulting in better traction!!! B)

Powerflex do an adjustable console bush too iirc I thought about getting them but don't know if it would actually be any good ?

Would be great to hear what yours is like long term

I had powerflex and would never touch it again.

The properties change over time where as superpro claim not to.

My wishbone bush started knocking. Pay a little more and get quality that will last (3 year guarantee too).

I didnt even look into a warrenty with powerflex, just got rid

Also the crush bars / internal rod is miles thicker on the superpro.

Just overall a better product, that feels better made

Do Powerflex claim that theirs do then?

Do Powerflex claim that theirs do then?

That would be a poor marketing claim lol

They dont state either, where superpro say "remain constant in their durometer"

Ive had experience with them and like stated above, I wont touch it again

Finished the other rear last night an the car is like brand new. It feels tighter and more responsive through the steering wheel.

Just waiting on my arb bushes and it's all done

do these drop the wishbone down slightly then as it looks like it sits slightly lower?

Yes they are off centre to lower the wishbone down slightly.

Prevents wheel hop

I assume the geometry of the wheels will sit quite differently then? Very interesting.

How does tilting the wheels slightly at an 'upwards angle' reduce/eliminate wheel hop? Would this impact handling in anyway?

On a side topic, I bought some powerflex bushes for the farb last night.. couldn't manage to find superpro equivalents :( (until I saw the link this morning!) Ah well.

Is there much difference in brands regarding farb (i.e. superpro and powerflex)?

I'm sure the superpro bushes come in 2 different levels of stiffness as well.

I had a leaflet ages ago but I can't find it now.

Yes either 70 shore for the Petrols or 80k for the diesels. They also do the 90k for the track use.

I cannot describe the difference.

Before the car wandered a bit to the left now it's like it's just come out the factory.

I'd defo say it's a must.

Let me know if your interested as I could possibly discuss some forum discount etc because I have already dealt with them direct. We could sort some deal out if he was willing to come on as a dealer

Let me know or your interested as I could get s

It doesn't tilt the wheel, it tilts the lower suspension arm/wishbone by lowering the rear mount. Cars tend to have an amount of anti-dive geometry to prevent excessive nose diving under heavy braking (front wishbone rear mount higher than it's front mount). The flip side of this is that it also restricts upwards movement of the suspension under power, reducing or potentially reducing total traction/grip. Can also be seen as excessive understeer under power or lack of traction in tighter corners.

EDIT: With the VRS's torque, booting it mid corner can provoke mega-understeer anyway! Some improvement may be possible but you "cannae break the laws of physics".

These have just arrived

I'll be doing these at some point at the weekend to finish it off nicely.

Kool, think I get it, thanks! :) from that explanation, wouldn't it be better to have better front grip than anti-bounce?

It's a compromise... Too much weight transfer forwards can greatly de-stabilise the car, means the effect of braking seems delayed and total braking effort can be less. Plus, transitions happen quicker if the body isn't flapping around wildly on the suspension, makes everything more controlable and less boat like (allegedly).

Having written that, my Fabia nose dived like a bitch when it was on standard suspension, so they obviously didn't get it totally right to begin with.

Good to read this thread, I have been searching threads for answers to my ongoing problem of car wanting to go to the left - just to clarify what happened when, you say car stopped pulling/ wandering left, was this when the front wishbone and console bushes were changed or when you upgraded the rear beam? I have had quite a few alignments done and now I have decided it could be the rear beam bushes that need doing? Or start again as you have done, good job! I'm jealous of your supple machine.

Yes I currently have the cupra and powerflex on the front, how easy does one get the cupra bush out of the console? I cant see mine ever coming out it took such an effort to get them in!

Cut them out and press the superpro ones in.

The fronts stopped the wandering slightly. The powerflex front wishbone bush had play in it hence pulling to the left when accelerating

How much did all these cost? Might be interested in a group buy.

You make that sound so easy! looking at the pictures, have you left the alloy casing part of the cupra bush in the console or cut that bit out aswell?

I might just replace the front wishbone powerflex bushes - I dont think I can bear to cut out the cupras, its over 3 years since I pressed them in but I can still feel the pain!

Thanks for the reply, how's things now like, few monthson?

Does the cupra console bush go in the front or rear of the two bushes?

i have powerflex + cupra, but want to go superpro, dont wanna replace both if i can replace just one

Front Control Arm, Rear Bush Kit With Anti Lift

If the cupra one is the rear (like above), can I just get that one?
