Sad times. No Safari Metallic....

Featured Replies

I was rather looking forward to Safari Metallic Yeti.

But currently it won't be available for the forseeable future, nevermind, we've still got the new Bronze to come!

I was probably the only person who wanted a Yeti in that colour anyway, seems very unpopular with Fabia and Octavia for some reason. I think the colour Safari Beige puts people off as it reminds them of 70s motoring perhaps.

I liked, too. Its new, different of any colour and nice. :)

I nearly bought an Octavia Scout in that colour, but went for the Yeti instead.

What colour does this resemble? Not heard of that one before, is it similar to Sahara Metallic?

No it's different to the old Sahara metallic.

That's the best I could do, I haven't actually seen one yet. I wonder if they will still being produced in LHD for other countries, hopefully some photos will surface at some point.

I'd have to call mine 'Lily' - if I ever had one in that colour

Check out this clip of a Safari Scout.

Not for me, whatever Skoda call it its clearly beige.

Might this be a knock on effect from the Japanese Tsunami of a couple of months ago?

I was reading last week in a Fleet magazine that a majority of manufacturers world wide are restricting, or have even removed, the availability of certain 'whites', notably Audi's Pearl White; due to the lack of certain pigments that only come from the Tsunami hit region of Japan.

Might Skoda be in the same boat with Sahara metallic? Obscure reasoning I know but plausible.

My daughter works for the car paint division of Ronseal and she tells me that a huge number of paint colours are now very scarce or unavaialble because of one particular ingredient that does indeed come from the tsunami-stricken region of Japan.

LOL! - I had visions of a stripey paint job Tiger style!

NASTY! Just another shade of "Jewish Racing Gold"!!!!

Gotta say how good the Scout is though, I remember going round the different courses at Millbrook just before the UK launch - awesome what ability theey have and that hillstart is pretty nifty!

At least it'd be fairly unique. :D
