Electric Windows

Featured Replies

Hi, why is it that sometimes when I lock my Yeti the driver's and or the passenger side front window lowers by about 8"? I've tried opening the door, raising the window by using the switch and then re-locking and it still happens, maybe a couple of times and then it's ok again. I know there is some kind of safety feature on it but have failed to get to the bottom of it. I expect there is a simple explaination in the handbook but think it may be easier to ask one of you knowledgeable lot

this happened to me a few days ago. I think I reset it by holding the relevant switch in the up position for a while. It was rather alarming as I wanted to leave the car in a not so desirable area locked emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

Yep, Mike is correct - that's the way to reset the windows!

Has the battery been disconnected at all?

Thanks both, no battery not disconnected, the only thing I did prior to it happening on one occaison was using the lock hold method to close a couple of open windows and lock. It's a bit worrying that this happens but luckily they seem to do it immediately so hopefully not after you've walked off down the road. Just have to be vigilant I suppose.

That was how I realised mine weren't working, shut it using drivers button. bounced down. Got out of car and used global closing. Got back in and held button several times and it eventually reset.

The reset procedure for the windows is on page 49 of the manual. They do seem to develop a mind of their own on occasions.

I had one that started to do this, Skoda mechanic says something as little as a squashed bug can cause the safety bounce back, and if it happens you should check nothing has been forced into the groove before trying to reset.

So if it happens again I have to look for squashed bugs......before trying to close them, even if it was only opened a minute or two earlier......emoticon-0140-rofl.gifemoticon-0140-rofl.gif

hmmmmm

On the outbound ferry crossing from Hull to Rotterdam, my Yeti's alarm went off in the evening and I was asked to go and switch it off and deactivate the alarm.

I've never done this before but according to the handbook, you press the button on the lower part of the driver's side B-pillar and lock the car within 30 seconds.

Whether I got this wrong or not I don't know but when I came to the car in the morning, the rear driver's side window was open about 8 inches. I had a few issues with the window keep dropping until I reset it. OK since.
