Why did skoda badge their sporty cars VRS.. instead of just RS?

And why is the site called 'briskoda'

Because ford use rs and its about driving your skoda briskly

Briskoda = "brisk skoda" so a Skoda driven briskly. There was a similar tag line on the forum somewhere. The vRS is RS in other countries just not here. I think Fabia/Octavia vRS sounds a but better than Fabia/Octavia RS. Does to me anyway.

I thought Briskoda was because of 'Britain Skoda' lol

Yeh I had noticed in other countries the VRS is the RS... well they call it that but its still badged VRS

As said already I think only Ford have the right to use the RS badge in this country (I believe so anyway)

Would suspect Audi get away with it because it is an RS3 not an A3 RS and Renault are called RenaultSport not RS though probably shortened to RS in anything other than official paperwork!

Also as a thought isn't RS as used by ford also short for Rally Sport just like Skoda? That would cause a trademark problem I would think.

Not realy because for only trade mark "FORD RALLY SPORT" not just "RALLY SPORT" no one can paintent the name "RALLY SPORT" as it is used on almost all rally teams and companies

How about the Audi tt? Isn't there a TT RS?? As in not the rs tt like the rs4 etc but a TT RS
