Hi Sam, I just messaged you about the wheels. I looked at it just over a year ago at a used car dealers in the east end. His son had taken it as a P/X for a Lexus IS200 but couldn't afford to insure it so it was being sold through his dads lot. They didn't have any service history to go with it and couldn't tell me anything about the coilovers or whether it had been mapped, had new timing belt etc. The guy had the name of the fella who traded it in and knew he was a mechanic at a car recovery place in the southside so I called the garage to try and contact him as I wanted some more info on it before I could think about buying it. Got through to the garage but the guy was out on a call, left my number but he never called me back. To be honest there were a few things that made me walk away. There was a generic FMIC behind the bumper which hadn't been plumbed in, badly done big mouth conversion, the air intake was damaged and just hanging on with zip-ties, paint was flaking on the spoiler, non oe xenons and all this nasty looking blue sheath that had been wrapped around engine cables and pipework. It's interesting that you have a service history with it given the garage selling it didn't have one. Was some of the servicing done in Ireland? Maybe the guy who bought it managed to get hold of a previous owner as when I saw it pop up on ebay it looked like he had sorted out some of the stuff that put me off it. I'm glad to hear its running sweet. I was fairly confident that the engine would be fine given how solid the VW lump is and it sounded ok but when I saw it there were just too many things that didn't add up mainly the lack of service history.

All the best, Dougie.
