Spaced out (5-12mm max)

Featured Replies

Hi, Am thinking of spacing a small amount, what size would you recommend? I remember spacing my Golf and starting with 5mm, by the end with the Brembos I was up to the max! I don't wan't to hit that stage with my Skoda, so I'm looking for cheap spacers - probably used to save £

I always used H&R and McGuards but am open to suggestions, I have very little to spend at present and would like the kind of effect of almost unnoticeable at first glance.

PS if you manage to fins anything on ebay, can you send us the links? I'm scanning the bay right now

I'd advise NOT spacing your wheels out.

On a front-wheel drive, there's some advantage to running a wider track at the front, the Leon Cupra does this.

On a Haldex 4x4, it will not help. Fit a decent sized tyre - 225/40R18 or 225/45R17, on a decent alloy.

I found some TaperPRO ones that are hubcentric and only £25 ish a pair for 3mm or 5mm.

Personally I go with snow muncher. even on my vRS (FWD) spacing the wheels is crap and makes the car twitchy and not the bast to drive, its better now that the alignment is better but for it to be spot on the alignment needs to be BANG ON. no room for the slightest bit out. Ive been advised to put the same spacers on the rear too as this will help. Only need the spacers to clear the Brembos with the spiders. I just got some LCR rims so I didnt need to use spacers lol, but I do like the spiders tho so I make do.

I never knew that, cheers Snow_ Muncher, I spaced my Golf to the max, right so spacing = No. Slight lowering?
