Build Week Gets Closer!

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, this is only my second post to this forum, the last one being back on 8/7/11 when I stated that I had ordered my Yeti and had been given a build week of 44:-( This week I contacted my dealer for an update and he advised me that up until 2 weeks ago I was still at week 44, then it went to week 43 (going in the right direction!). When he checked again on Friday my build week had moved to week 38:-) He is now just waiting to see when it goes to code 20 which means that it will 100% be built that week and according to him this should happen next week. I am trying very hard not to get too excited about the fact that my SM could be here quite a bit sooner than I had anticipated.

However, as I am fully aware from this forum build weeks can get worse as well as better so I am trying really hard to keep my feet firmly on the ground!

As soon as I have more news I will post it here.

All the best

Jez

Like a yo-yo! hehehe Hopefully it will arrive sooner than later. "Enjoy" the last bit of waiting.

As you'll see from my signature:

I ordered in April and was told Build Wk 36

Two weeks ago was told Wk 38

Today I rang out of curiousity emoticon-0106-crying.gif Wk 42!

So far, if it doesn't change, that means a 27 week wait before it starts being built plus extra time for transportation/prep/delivery!

Could be an early Xmas present at this rate.

This is exactly the reason that I am trying not to get my hopes up too much as I know build weeks can change at the drop of a hat. I hope yours moves forward once again but I admire your patience!! :)

Hi everyone, in my last post on 11/9/11 I said that my build week had moved from week 44 initially to week 38 but my dealer was waiting to get the "Code 20" which would mean that my SM would 100% be built in week 38. Well, I am pleased to report that I got my code 20 and my SM is being built this week

I originally placed my order for the car on 18/6/11. I have now been advised by my dealer that the car should be here around the middle of October :) I will post some pictures once I have had a chance to play!!!

4 months, that'#s not bad, I have always had to wait about three months for a new car in the past so that's pretty close to "normal". Of course now you have a date the time will drag :smirk:

Wonder if its right hand drive week/s? Mine was pencilled in for next week but still do not have any proper confirmation.

Perhaps its time I rattled their bars again!

Cheers

I see at the moment you have a Honda CRV. Why the change to the Yeti?

I see at the moment you have a Honda CRV. Why the change to the Yeti?

Several reasons really. Firstly, running costs. My CR-V is a 2.0 Petrol and over here on Guernsey I get roughly 18-22 miles to the gallon (when I go to France this can go up to 27-30 miles to the gallon, still pretty c**p). Secondly, servicing costs, I now find that Honda's servicing costs have been going skyward for some time. Finally, the cost of their new cars in general. Don't get me wrong, my CR-V is a lovely car to drive but this time when I changed I wanted to go Diesel and a Diesel version of the CR-V in the spec I wanted was nearly £27,000 (Auto). Now, I have ordered my Yeti Elegance, with options of Spare Wheel, Columbus Sat Nav and Front Parking sensors with DSG box and genrally I would say that the Yeti is as well, if not better specced than the Honda and the Yeti is costing me a shade over £21,000.....................no contest in my mind!!! :)

Hi,

New forum member here, but been lurking for a few months. Ordered my Greenline SE LHD back in April with a provisional delivery date of last Friday. Needless to say, I am still Yeti-less :S Finally got a provisional build date this morning - week 1 2012!! Add the delivery time then it might - just might - be end of January. Meanwhile, my poor old RAV4 has to be kept running - new front shocks needed to get through the French MOT in December, already replaced radiator and 5th gear this summer... Waiting for a new car is an expensive business!!

This was my main fear when ordering a new car, and the reason I originally ruled out the Yeti, Ordering in July/August i wanted to have a car for the new registration on sept 1st and to avoid services, tires, M.O.T's, Tax, warranty and many other things that came about at that time, but other manufacturers delivery times wildly differed, Just by chance I thought I would go into Skoda and just recheck waiting times and there were several pre-built waiting! It took me a week to finally decide and ensure a price I was happy with, and my choices were limited to 1 (or 2 the same).

I think there needs to be a poll asking Yeti owners (Future or present, and potential) whether they would sacrifice there perfect spec yeti, for a slightly different spec, whether colour or options to not have to wait quite so long!!!

Been to the dealers today check my order and it is waiting to be loaded on to ship, said we might have it for the end of month. My tax and insurance run out on the 30/09/11. Ordered 20/04/11

I have now been waiting exactly 26 weeks since putting pen to paper. I have had provisional build weeks of 37 then 43. At the beginning of September I was given Week 40. This was the same last week and this morning it is still week 40. Another few days should give me a code 20 (I hope) then building week of October 3rd!!!

I am also in 'discussion' via a young lady at SUK re the mythical Goodwill Payment. Over the past few weeks 3 people at SUK assured me after 25 weeks wait I would qualify for this £300. Last week the young lady at SUK seemed to move the goalposts!! She is now discussing the issue with my skoda salesman who took my order. She says only orders dated in 2010 qualified. Otherwise each on its merits. Not been told that before! This is after I spent the '£300' on yet more extras! However, as I pointed out this morning, week 26 now, IF the current build week goes ahead +2 weeks, then delivery etc +4-5 weeks (if I'm lucky) - adds up to over 32 weeks.... surely that's over the 6 month expected arrival date!!

I also think that Skoda must be doing even better business with the long wait as people add to their spec! I have changed colour twice, added heated front windscreen, added panoramic roof, added rough road package, then finally added park assist. I think SWMBO is worried that any further delay will let me add even more!!

Desperately hoping for code 20 next week!!

PS Drove from Durham to Cardiff (taking boy to Uni, then back the scenic route via the Lakes... about 750 miles. I did not see a single SM anywhere!!! They really are shy!!)

Well at last Yorkie will be built next week!!!!

Yipppeeee!!

  :drunk:

I am delighted for you!! We seem to have run this race together with you edging into the lead. I assume you are a code 20 and probably taking shape on the plans as I write! Maybe they'll hold onto yours for a couple of weeks and transport it with mine. If things stay the same I'll be code 20 beginning of next week. Then I can share your delight!

Once I get mine maybe we can find someone midway between us with the right cable to set up the instrument needles and the large mph!!

Remember to post pics when you finally take delivery!

Strange how things work :mmm: ? My 201148, then 201144 then 201140 (!) all "suject (sic) to confirmation" has turned into 201139 "Confirmed Build Week". Looks like a lot of 170s arriving in UK together. Now where are those tide tables, shipping details.

There is a god!! At long last I have received a communique from my dealer. He has only ever replied to my messages. Yet here, Saturday morning I receive an email announcing (fanfare!!!) that I have progressed to a Code 20 and my new baby will be born the week of October 3rd 2011. Now am I being a little optimistic in believing the dealer...... who says normally takes 2-3 weeks for delivery so expect to be mid to late October!

Probably heading to Cardiff around then but not expecting my baby to be ready to travel by then!

My first 4x4....'let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!'

The other good thing is it's now too late to add to my order - so will save money there! The probable down side is the time taken from order to delivery looks like being 7 months so I'm sure they'll argue against a £300 goodwill payment. I was told on a few occasions by SUK staff thatv after 25 weeks I would get it. Recently I was given a different approach.... each case on its merits. Sadly I'd already spent the £300 and more on Rough Road Package and Park Assist.

Overall I'd sooner have the baby than wait longer to get goodwill for certain!!

Holding on to your coat tails Maffa!!

I was driving mine 3 weeks after she was born so keep your fingers crossed.

Thanks for that! Everything is crossed... (bloody painful!)

Was originally told week 36 and as of today it is now week 46!!

Contacted SUK today and informed my build week is now wk 45.

So its went from 42 to 44 and now 45  Here was me thinking things were improving :'(

Hi everyone, in my last post on 19/9/11, I stated that I had received my "Code 20" and my build week was confirmed as week 38. Well, I have heard from my dealer again today and my car is now in the UK. It now has to be shipped over to my dealer here in Guernsey and he has informed me that I might be able to pick it up on Thursday of next week  If not then, it will be Monday (10/10/11). So, as you can no doubt imagine I am keeping my fingers tightly crossed for Thursday :), as that way I get to play next weekend!!! As soon as I can I will post some pictures on my web site.

All the best

Now moved to Week 47 - should I just resign myself to a January delivery in the optimistic hope it will land before Christmas?!!!!
