Tangerine Yeti

Featured Replies

If you go to see the Tour of Britain cycle race this week, you'll see a Tangerine Yeti (sponsored by Adnams of Southwold) carrying the race commentator at the start of the race. What a shame they stopped making Yetis in this colour as it looks great!

Still brewing Adnams though!

Adnams...mmmm. :p

Stayed in Southwold last October and did the brewery trip followed by a free wine tasting. Very informative and great beer selection from a very impressive outfit with a fantastic state of the art German brewery and they have now opened a distillery.

Lovely little town with great walks, pubs (all Adnams) and a splendid pier altogether a very nice part of the world.

Just watched the TV coverage of yesterday's stage.

Shame the weather was so bad the stage was cancelled but what do they expect in Britain, in September? :giggle:

Mr tangerine man looked good though.

I was brought up on Adnams and have spent many happy times in Southwold. The Yorkshire folk I'm exiled amongst seem to think the best beer comes from up here; they couldn't be more wrong - East Anglian beers is best. Adnams Broadside - magic.

I'll have to make a point of watching the TV coverage.

Hi Steve

Great Beer tried several Explorer,Broadside and the normal bitter is great too if you`re having a few.Bottles often on offer at Tesco not sure about additives to stop pump failure!

Most cask beer is now pretty good everywhere and yes there is some excellent stuff quite like the Welsh Reverand James (Brains Graham?)

My problem is Thwaites Wainwright which along with mature Lancashire cheese and my Yeti are the only good things to come out of that county!! It`s very moreish, thankfully if i walk quickly it takes 3 mins to walk to our cricket club or 5 if I stroll or on the way back!

Stayed just round the corner from the Nelson in a v.nice spot http://www.bestofsuffolk.co.uk/barleyrise.asp

Now will watchout for bearded man in red Yeti.

Cheers

Peter

I was parked next to a Tangerine Yeti last night and I am gutted the colour no longer exists. It suits the car really well.

I apologise, but I am unable to add to the Adnams debate as it is not a beer you come across in the NE. However I am very partial to a Black Sheep which I hope regains my manly credentials.

Now will watchout for bearded man in red Yeti.

Cheers

Could be me! Seems to be a few of us about - but you can tell it's me 'cos I'm usually wearing a clerical collar. I do enjoy going into Hebden Bridge Trades Club, wearing the collar, and asking for a pint of Hell. That's Kaltenberger Hell, which is a pleasant enough drink, but it's the look on the barman's face which makes it worthwhile...

On other matters - my Yeti is also called Betty; seems to be a lot of them about, too.

Cheers,

Rev Tony B

Aha, hiya Rev! I think we've passed and waved on several occasions. I live between Hebden and Todmorden, up on the hillside. Peter/Maffa told me about you initially. Is yours the car with the red and yellow striped oval on the back?

Hi Peter, yes I know where that is. I spent a lot of my childhood in and around Southwold - my godfather was a CofE clergyman whose parish was a little way inland. He was single and lived alone in a big old rectory, and me, my parents and siblings would go and stay with him for much of our school summer holidays. Been revisiting ever since. I am prepared to concede there are some good beers up here; I'm fond of Black Sheep Special and Timothy Taylor's Landlord for example ... just wish they'd learn to pour it without so much head. (Dare say that should start a debate :giggle: ) Anyway, back to the point - good old Adnams for sponsoring the tangerine Yeti, and I for one will be applauding them by drinking more of their splendid product!

I agree the tangerine yeti looks lush, would be superb with the gobi leather !!

:)

The Harbour Inn, Southwold. A lovely place to sit in the sun with a pint of Adnams, a fish&chip lunch and watch the boats in the estuary.... :)
