Rear boot liner

Featured Replies

The car is fitted with the spare wheel.

I'm looking for a "rubber" boot liner preferrably with a small lip. Skoda don't appear to do one. Tried several firms but I can't find anyone who will specifically say that their liner will fit. Even found one company which appeared to show a Yeti liner with the false boot floor. When I asked however all they would say is that the picture was "generic" & they didn't really know if their mat fitted.

So anyone actually got a specific mat & if so where did you manage to get it. :)

NOTE: Don't want one that I have to cut to fit or a bit of rubber that I cut up. :dull:

The standard rubber boot mat fits quite well, and has a small raised edge. I think it would fit just as well with the raised floor.

Further note: I've actually got a "rubber" mat in the boot BUT this is the mat for the normal non spare wheel floor. Dealers don't appear to have anything on their list

Ta though for the thoughts

Lidl did some3 some time ago, they velco to the back of the rear seats, and the sides will cable tie to the boot rails, there is a flap which fold out to cover the bumper etc

cost abot £25 they come around regularly

That is right and it works fine. Several of us on here have the 'wrong' rubber mat, as they don't do a 'right' rubber mat for the spare wheel/variable floor option....I have the textile one as well, but don't use it at the moment. I prefer the rubber one which stops stuff sliding around so much.

Yes. The 'wrong' mat works fine with my variable boot floor.

The problem with the "wrong" mat is twofold.

1) It doesn't fit & it's not neat. Normally it is (just) liveable with.

2) It doesn't have a lip & even if it did it wouldn't be much use.

SCENARIO: Winter. A couple of mates. Raining/snowing all day.

Outer gear soaking. Boots covered in frozen mud/snow. Three to six ice axes. Six walking poles. Frozen ropes. Rucksacks wet through with ice still adhering to pointy bits.

Now when that lot melts there's going to be a lot of water. I don't want it soaking into the wheel well, the seats or the carpet.

Tarpaulin. Maybe but again it's not the definitive answer & water has a habit of sneaking & running through gaps. :'( :'(

So no one has a mat that actually fits the false floor.... :(

Unless you get a Hose out vehicle -a Haflinger or Pinzgauer you may be asking quite a lot of a "Soft Roader". The Yeti is a capable off roader which is designed and sold for primarily road use. It is Golf based and the expectation is that it will provide a road based civilised everyday car.

Lots of people regard an old Defender as more useful for the kind of thing you have described.

Or a classic RR. Designed for the farm during the week, hose it out and the Ritz at the weekend....emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

......Eh yes well that's what I'm using it for. :wonder: It's not to take me up mountains only to get me to the car park & home again. :smirk:

So no I don't want another car thanks merely a nice boot liner that fits & has a lip.

But the Skoda rubber bootliner DOES have a lip all round and the fit is pretty good to my mind.

That's good. Pour about a pint of water on it randomly, go for a drive, and then let me know how you get on will you. :o

Could get some of those blue Ikea bags which are great for wet waders etc!!! or anything else for that matter.

Also I have some vinyl uphostery fabric 140 cm wide and a big piece protects and covers everything even with the seats down (try your local upholsterers warehouseman)The Lidl cover mentioned as available in France by our friend in Finistere (sorry forgotten your moniker!) on a previous thread sounds good if they offer it over here.

Why not save some money and do what I do. I always have to have boots and wellies in my car for work. I use a normal large plastic storage box and keep it in position with the large mesh restraint looped around, under and over it and attached to the right hand floor and rail fixing to stop it moving around. I also have a rubber mat. The box contains all the mess and is easily lifted out when in the way for more normal use. Much better than getting the boot mat itself messed up.

Both good ideas & pretty much what I do if I'm on my own. The problem arises with say three in the car & the shear amount of wet & snowy winter walking/climbing gear. :S

Yes was offered recently in the uk - do a search on bootliners on the site, I took some pics of it fitted to a spare wheeled boot, haven't time to locate the link currently

Not so sure....if you look closely the rear lip on the liner for the upper boot is quite shallow.

Try this - It looks ok; I shall need one myself for large dog, when my Yeti eventually arrives...
