High mileage octavia

Featured Replies

After seeing the mileages In the VRS thread it go me thinking what's the highest you've owned/seen. I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to high mileage, my 2003 1.9 tdi 110 has 84775 on it today and that's the highest I've ever owened.

The highest I've ever seen was on a SDi classic taxi that had 312,000 on the clock. I don't know if it was the same engine or not but in my drunken stupor I said "this has got some miles on it, it's about time you changed it, it'll be knackered!" the driver didn't seem impressed!!! :)

Just MOT'd mine today at 409k miles, no advisories.   She's not the prettiest but when the local cab firm offered me their 'old octavia' for £200, I couldn't say no.   No service history, didn't e

  • Pfft, 300,000 miles is nothing. Recently drove my 2008 mk1 with over 600,000 miles to greece and back. While I was there I had to take a taxi which was also a Mk1 Octavia with over a million KM. The o

My 2001 110TDI is on 188500

There is a thread on here (somewhere) for the top high-mileage owners club!

There is an Octavia 1.9Tdi taxi in Dublin with almost 500,000miles on it, still on its original engine and gearbox and still running sweetly. This mileage was verified recently by the main Skoda dealer in Dublin who ran a competition to find the highest mileage Skoda.

variable mate but started doing it my self now save the cash

We look after a taxi, a 1999 pre facelift TDi, currently on 400,000 miles. The most major repair has been a new clutch and flywheel. It is still on its original gearbox and hasn't even had the cylinder head removed.

Saw a 2003 Octy 1 1.9sdi on autotader with 380000. Friend at work has a 2000 Bora 115 tdi 226000, no big jobs. Out of interest I had look over the net and found a guy in California with a 86 Jetta 1.6tdi with 536000 still all original and no rust funnily enough! He won a new v10 tdi Tourag for a years use from VW. still got way to go on my 2004 1.9 tdi octy with 82k :-)Or how about 1962 beetle with 1 million miles all original, Think that guy deserves a medal I would'nt want to do a trip down to the shop it one of them!!

Makes my car seem like its only been driven in, 2001 Octavia Elegance thats done 194,000 miles and still going very strong.

My 2000 Octavia SLXi Turbo is on 204,000miles but is currently sat parked up with a knackered gearbox!

my 2005 reg mk1 1.9 tdi has 329k and runs sweet.

My old 2001 51 plate SDi, sold with 350k on the clock, ex taxi, guy I sold it to put it back on the road, & as far as I'm aware it's still running. Service them every 10k & they will run for ever. My current mk2 60 plate octy has 70k on the clock. Had a few things done on warranty, flywheel, clutch & 2 front shockers.

my 2002 TDi is on 144k now which i thought was old lol !!!

That's nothing really for this cars! :D

Sorry for the thread revival but I came home from the pub last night in an Octavia SDI taxi with 442k! The guy's had it since new, and apparently except for brakes, bushes and tyres the only work it's needed has been 2 clutches and a driveshaft :o

My sister has an ex taxi octavia with 25000 on it no problems with it whatsoeva. I also used to own a daihatsu fourtrak with over 400000 that was used an abused off road. engine was a sweet as a nut and is still on the road and being abused.

Just goes to show... look after a car and it'll look after you!

Mine's on 130k now, which is the highest I've owned... tempted to see how long I can run it for. Still feels totally solid, both inside and out!

I still don't understand the stigma against high-mileage cars when you buy used. If they're well-maintained, they should be fine.

A guy I kno drove an ldv van for royal mail. That past 1,000,000 miles.

my bora tdi is on 176000 miles and still going strong.

I've had a 306 D-Turbo with 233k, which is huge for a French car :)

Where I work we had a 57 plate vw transporter with 275000 in 3 years only thing we repalced was tyres and brakes was sold at auction last year it came in to our place for tyres today with just shy of 400000
