Loads on mytyres, Sunny, Roadstone, Pirelli, Nexen to name a few.

In your fuel filler flap you should have a sticker with the approved wheel/tyre sizes for your model.

For snow driving narrow as possible with high profile is best, luckily these are usually the cheapest option too.

The official winter size for the Fabia II is 185/55 R15 85H, however we have a set of mytyres steels fitted with 195/55 R15 Bridgestone Blizzak LM30's, purchased last year after getting nowhere in the first snow of last winter.

Well recommended tyre and size; actually prefer the quieter and smoother ride over the standard 205/45 R16 arrangement with Conti PremiumContact 2 tyres.

I bought four 195/55 15 Nokian WR D3 for the winter... Just need to buy steel wheels...

Hi all, first time poster, long time lurker...

I'm new to the whole winter tyre thing, but can someone confirm for me that the alloy bolts fitted to the Monte will also fit to the steel wheels?

I'm really considering getting these.

Will they fit?

thanks!

Hi and welcome,

yes the VAG bolts will fit the mytyres steels; have a similar package for our Fabia II but we got Bridgestone Blizzak LM30 tyres, which I would quite happly recommend.

Plumber: Have done a little reading about fitting steelies with winters... Have you gone for full or half trims with yours? Seems the Caddy half trims are popular.

Just to add... have read some more and it appears those Caddy/T5 centre caps aren't suitable as they're 5x112, not 5x100 :(

In fact, I can't find anything remotely suitable. Looks like full hubcaps (yuck) or nothing at all.

Hi,

were using full Skoda Fabia trims, only drawback we have found is they don't fit the mytyres rims as well as VAG rims; they sit a bit proud around the rim edge.

OEM trims are not the cheapest option and obviously the car looks a lot better on it's original alloys  However the full trims nicely hide any corrosion that's bound to form on steels from all that road salt and I think for winter anyway, function is more important than form, if you know what I mean.

There wont be any corrosion on a steel wheel in the slightest if you protect them properly

I've got some 195/55/15 Vred Snowtrac 3's fitted to some Audi Pepperpot alloys.

Be interested in what you use :wonder: not found anything yet to protect the exposed rim edge or around the weight reduction cut-outs.

Another price increase on mytyres today.

£100 increase on the set I ordered on Saturday.

but you may also be able to buy locally. our local tyre fitting centre has an ad in the free paper tonight pushing winter tyres. Mind you last year they sold a mate of mine just two and said he only needed them on the front!!

please consider this video before deciding to fit 2 instead of 4 winter tires.

I bought Sunny 3830 205 40 17 for my Monte from Mytyres. First two 51 quid. Second two were 57. Price rise in a week. Not fitted yet but they look good and reviews are good. Keep you posted.

Hi guys sorry to revive an old thread. But following this post above, I contacted the provider, (it doesnt look like the poster (hoppipolla)is active on the site, but If you do read this, did you get these wheels? did they fit?)

I ask because I received an "vauge" answer from them when asking if they fit the VRS MkII.

We are sorry to inform you we do not offer technical support on our products and also if you do not see you car specification on our website, we do not have steel wheels with tyres for it, unfortunately.

Can anyone confirm that these will fit the VRS? (OP used a Fabia 1.6TDI to get the results.) The reply to him says they fit the Fabia II, Are the bolts the same on all Fabia II's?

Cheers

It's been said on many many posts about winter tyres/wheels. 195/55/15 offers exactly the same rolling circumference as 205/40/17 so you should be ok.

205/45/16 are only 1% different, that's what I will be running with Hankook W310s

205/50/16 are only 1% different, that's what I will be running with Hankook W310s

Actually they are 2.6% different which is a little more.
