Oh DEER!

Featured Replies

Well it's the 1st time I have hit anything before and my god I'm ****ed off! :giggle:

Just away picking up the missus, I sat and watched a deer run right out in front of me slammed on the brakes and "dunt" I hut the bloody thing.

As you can see it has took the wing right out the game, front grill, bumper & light

Where I hut the deer there are MOD everywhere and they stopped beside me asking what happened, I explained that I hut a deer and I don't know where it went. They asked if I was OK which I was, I jamp back into my car and pulled away to find out that the car is jurking and ****ing smoke out the back. I crawled back to where I hut the deer and the MOD were there moving it and sweeping my light to the side of the road which smashed in the process. I then got out my car and said to them well least I done a good job of it and if it was OK to get into there site for a bit of light to see what I have done.

I had a look at the intercooler which is cracked and moved a fair bit, I'm putting that down to the smoke and no power.

Does anyone have.... Front bumper, wing, FMIC handy and willing to sell or if they know how much a new bumper and wing is for a 2006 vRS :) I don't think I'm in much rush for it as I will just run my Rallye :)

It couldn't come at a better time.... a week on Tuesday I am going to Cuba and I have just put a deposit down on a house! Just more expense to add to the list!

Bummer !!!!!! but glad to see that you are ok, cars can be mended , people are harder to repair :

You try telling the parents that!

I came home said I have bad news and good news... bad news is I hut a deer, the good news is I'm OK and I get to take my 106 Rallye out again!

They were saying put it through insurance, It doesn't matter how much I tell them no that is stupid they think I'm the stupid one for not doing it... OK its going to cost me a bit but I would rather pay it and fix it myself than getting insurance to fix it which leaves me with a claim and also a CAT D car!

They don't have a clue!

If you put it thru insureance you'll just end up paying for the repair in increased premiums for the next few years, not worth it. Glad your ok tho, wing and cooler shouldn't be mega money tbh

Oh my god, You killed Bambi!

yeah am fine, more worried about how much its going to cost me!

nah i had a quick look last night a few hundred quid an i will manage to fit everything myself. if i can get a decent price on a front mounted intercooler i will spend the extra £ for 1.

the folks actually had an argument about putting the car through insurance, im trying to lower the cost not put it up!

Bet there wasn't even a dent on the train!

Well I have my 106 Rallye outside now all ready for me to take to work tomorrow!

The Joys! :-)

is your 106 rallye a proper 100bhp 1.3 or the later 1.6 100bhp.

i had a 106 xsi (1.4 100bhp) is was awesome. i relocated the battery and washer bottle to the back of the car, put coilles on and polycarbonate side and rear windows, ALOT of engine work(porting, big valve job, etc etc and got 131bhp on the rollers)

spent £4000 on the car in 6months then the police crushed it when i got done for DR10(was only 17 back then) uncourse all mods where undeclared and insurance through work so only costing me £850. (i would like to see a 17yr old pay that nowadays)

I always wanted a S1 106 Rallye with the white steel wheels.

Love it mate, more outright fun than Fabia vrs everyday of the week. enjoy.

Well mate I have 2 S1 106 Rallye's :smirk: the one I'm running just now its totally standard with 84k (The one in the pic) and another which I am building with a Saxo VTS J4 Engine with a JP4 head from a C2 VTS.

I got DD40 and waiting for the thing to come off my license!

Well I can tell you this the Rallye puts a smile on my face everytime I see it! Even took a roundabout at 30mph this morning... same speed as I take the vRS round it and it felt like it was on rails! thought I was going slower!

Your Rallye is absolutely mint, especially one from 1994, a credit to its owner.

Not sure about the Wonder Wheels on the wall, a very aggressive acidic wheel cleaner, I used it a few too many times on a set of alloy's and they went yellow :(

What did you do to get a dangerous driving conviction!?

Thanking you I love it not a spot of rust on it too! :) it's a M Reg 1995

The Wonder wheels was OK on them... but I got the wheels glass bead blasted at my work and powder coated... think it was about 1 year ago I got it done, I haven't cleaned them as the car has been off the road for near a year and I have only done 7 miles since its last MOT which was January B), we have stuff at my work which is Car Tech stuff? Acid free stuff it works a treat! :p

I was a bad boy when I was younger... got chased by the police and never stopped until I was home! got away from them but Reg plate was took! I was in a mk4 5 door fiesta 1.25l... young and stupid! learned my lesson! never again!

YEah, but bambi didnt end up in the engine bay like that BMW, so not that bad.

Ouch! glad to hear your ok though

My friends dad hit a deer in this leon, rung the insurance next morning to tell them, a non british woman handled his claim, he told her what happened and she replied with 'was the deer insured?' :wonder: he spent a good 10 mins explaining that it is a wild animal and no they do not insurance

Another reason not to have overseas call centres!

Well I had a Sky questionaire call tonight which I read to be, do it online we're culling our call centre staff.
