i have got a 2006 Octavia with 101200 km (62880 miles0

i have a temp problem when i drive the car and the whether temp is 4 Celsius (39 Fahrenheit) the engine temp goes down to 70 instead of 90

after few minutes it goes again to 90 then to 70 and it keep doing that going up and down between 70 and 90

it's been like that for 5 days

is it a serious problem and what should i do...??

assuming it's diesel I guess it's just the thermostat doing it's thing drive it harder or stay in a lower gear and it will rise after amile or so, shouldn't worry :-)

Used to run a Octavia SDI on my fleet but scraped it when it had 400k on the clock. The guys who drove it complained like hell that it wouldn't warm up or stay warm, the solution is a nice easy fix though. Sheet of cardboard covering half of the radiator, MPG went up too :-)
