Windows and Locks Possesed HELP

Featured Replies

Im relatively New on here and am in need of help....

My Fabia 1.4 2000 year hatch saloon has developed a realy nasty problem..

The central locking goes on and off on its own while driving or left parked, It can cycle through this process for up to 20 seconds at a time.

The worse part of this is that once you have parked and left the car the front windows open on there own fully.

There is no set time for windows to open on there own can be within minuites or several hours.

I have now taken to disconecting the battery as soon as I park. But its cat and mouse driving me Crackers as fast as I try to disconect battery windows start to open.

If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be good.

Just a note I did replace both front window mechs 2 years ago.

Cheers...

Sounds like a faulty door lock module. Had this on my last car, same symptoms.

Cheers for coming back so quick.

Did your windows go down on there own when parked aswell ?

Just noticed light on the dash lit up (EPC)

Do you lock the car by inserting the key in the door, or have you got remote locking?

I had a very similar problem with my old Polo and it turned out the pins in the lock had jammed up with years of dirt, so they were permanently stuck in the unlock position. Any slight movement would cause the barrel to move slightly, unlocking the car and dropping the windows with the convenience feature.

Sorted

I should have replied ages ago.

It ended up being loose bolts at the hinge that hold drivers door to the chasis.

After Tightening them back up fault disapeered and all still good.
