Cancelled vRS - bad for me, good for you?!

Featured Replies

Well, after much thought, deliberations and waiting, I have cancelled my new vRS due to the future arrival of our first child.

Been looking forward to the car for so long but feel its the right thing to do at the moment, don't doubt I'll get one when all has settled down again on the home front!

So if anyone is after a brand new very well specced Fabia vRS (black, black wheels, Bluetooth, MFSW, climate. Elec rear windows, heated seats, armrest) without the wait, give Warren @ Trans city Skoda a call and mention my name!

I'd like someone here to benefit from it if I can't!.....

Well you know better but Fabia's spaces are amongst the biggest ones at its range I think. I find that even with front seats pulled a lot towards the back there is still space for adults to sit on the back. And the boot, even in the hatch is very impressive. 300LT and at a very good shape, fully rectangular and usable to the last LT, unlike other cars... Didn't mean to make you thinking If you did the right thing, I just have been impressed so many times by the space of the car as I didn't buy it for this originally but it has proven more than I needed in many occasions!

I don't think he's cancelling for a bigger car due to the sprog, but to less money available for new car ;)

Oh, my bad then...! :p

Sorry to hear your not having the VRS but honestly it's really not practicable for a family car, you'll only forget the sprogs in the back and give it a boot ;) , you'll be better off with the octy ;)

Sorry your having to do it.

Good luck.

lol seboni the vRS comes as an Estate so can be a family wagon and a sports hatch

Mine will be used like this - best of both worlds. Carries the misses and our dog round in comfort for now anyway :D

And way faster than the hatch ;) however financially the sprog is going to cost a little more ;)

Thanks for all your replies, advice and well wishes! It is purely a financial decision to cancel..... More of a 'just in case' measure so we can worry a little less about money whilst the wife is off on maternity leave.

Guess I had better put my attention back onto the Fabia 1 board as reading about the new vRS' is going to hurt for a while! :'(

Shame dude. I got my car from warren aswell. Would have been nice to see another one around. Where abouts you from??

I'm in Broxbourne. That would have been my 3rd car from him, not had a bad experience yet. What's yours? I'll keep my eye out ;)

I'm always round that way. Gf lives in cheshunt or over Harlow. Got a white with black roof fabia vrs. Ex11... I've not seen another fabia on the road anywhere. Know of any skoda/vag meets round our way?? I'm from loughton by the way.

Small world, I'm in Loughton quite often too. I'll give you a wave if I see you! Not too sure about organised meets, not something I've got involved in before.

I've been to a few of the big Harlow ones (1000 cars +) and some times pop along to the Sunday night meet at krispy cremes in enfield but wanted a vag specific one.

back to the topic at hand i can't fault warren i went in told him what i wanted and 4 weeks later he rings me to say my cars ready for collection. Go trans city :)

Ben,

Been thinking about your car and could be what I am after, any idea how much it could be, did you get a good deal?

Are you financially out of pocket as result?

Sorry to pick over your bones!

Andrew

 Been in touch with Warren and Ben's car is now their demo so unavailable for 3 months

Mine was ment to be the demo aswell. I just had to pay a deposit to secure the car. Warren then got another vrs from another dealer to replace it so i only waited 4 weeks not 12. Ask him to do the same.

No worries Andrew, sorry it's a late reply!

I got what I think is a decent deal (that would be my third car from him!) I ordered it during the low VAT promotion which was running and negotiated hard on some of the extras.

They hadn't sold it for a while as he said he was reluctant to use it as a demo given its spec but now I see they have it on their fleet. I have no idea what they will put it up for when it comes onto the market now as a demo but will keep glancing on their site and am happy to speak to you nearer the time if you want an idea of price then and now!

I have lost money on it, my deposit, now that it's been registered as opposed to sold as new to someone else.... But the dealership as offered to honour my deposit against another car in the future as they understood my reasons behind cancelling (a new child). So hopefully I'll be in the market for one again sooner rather than later!
