Fabia 2 HTP - Alarm going off!

Featured Replies

Hi all, last night my car alarm kept setting its self off for no apparent reason.

a little investigation (standing in the freezing cold at 3am waiting for it to go off again), revealed that the alarm is being triggered by one of the door's being detected as open.

The door open warning light on the dash began flickering and then came on - shortly followed by the alarm.

I re-checked all the doors and closed them all firmly, but am still having intermittent problems with the alarm and the door light!

Anyone able to help?

I have a cheap vag-com unit that worked for changing everything to single click opening - does anybody no the codes/sequence to disable the alarm? Will be doing a fault check shortly.

I cleared some grit and leaves out of the bonnet catches and all seems well?

Could the bonnet trigger the door lights? Or is it just a coincidence?

Presumably there are door-shut plungers? Ie. Something that tells the car the door is open/closed. It would stand to reason that one of these is playing up.

Bonnet didn't fix.

Went off all night last night - was up almost every half an hour through the night to turn it off! Eventually took it to a local football grounds carpark and left it there to wail, before collecting it this morning! insanity!

The button on the drivers door isn't working to disable the sensors either - it doesn't seem to do anything.

I'm going to vag-com now, and will drop it at the dealer later :(
