Seeking someone with: Facelift vRS, DSG, MFSW & VCDS

Featured Replies

OK - might be seeking the impossible here, but here goes:

Today tried to have a MFSW fitted to my manual Octy vRS.

I knew that the steering controller would have to be replaced and everyone (including the people doing the fitting and coding) expected me to need something like this:

However once stripped down this is not what I need at all. The controller in my car seems to be an "all in one affair" including the controller, stalks and other electronics.

So.....I need to try and source the correct steering controller.

I know it's possible to disable DSG bits and bobs, so I was thinking if someone with a Facelift vRS DSG with factory fitted MFSW could use their VCDS and tell me the part number of their steering controller?

As it's quite possible this is the part I will need for my manual car so my MFSW buttons all work.

The link above controller works fine on pre-facelift, and possibly the very first facelift's, but Skoda in their infinite wisdom have changed something!

If anyone can help me out here.....well it would be much appreciated and I'll definitely owe you a beer!!

If you tell me where i am looking in VCDS i'll have a look.

As per the other thread 1KO 953 549 CD was the number from my old car.

It was FL DGS TDI MFSW, reg'd in May 2010. MFSW is/was standard on the DSG so it's all factory fitted.

If you tell me where i am looking in VCDS i'll have a look.

Look in the steering wheel tab and check the part number. It'll be similar to the one I posted above.

This is what you need.

The steering controller you bought is for Octavia s before mid 2010 (atleast in India) now all octys come with this setup.... So do all the VWs...

It's an all in one type deal ... And a lot easier to code in vcds as you get a long code ... And you don't have to type in the code... Just tick boxes... However if you buy it from skodateile you will get it pre- coded you won't need vcds.

Great stuff. I missed that whilst searching that site. I'll get one ordered up ready for my car arriving in spring.
