uninitialized control modules

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Our Octy now has a stable partner in the form of an Audi A1. Naturally, i'm keen to get VCDS on it to sort some of my prefered tweaks out.

I've had and used VCDS for a few years now, but have come across a new problem.

I'm getting the following message:

"This is an uninitialized control module; a valid WorkShop Code/Importer Number/Equipment Number must be specified. Would you like VCDS to use default values of 12345/123/12345?"

Now, whilst i'm not a believer of VCDS breaking anything, i'm concerned that Audi may spot any changes made and get a bit fussy....

...can anyone put my mind at ease? If i let VCDS set defaults of 12345/123/12345 is this going to be blindingly obvious to the dealer?

Thanks,

MPM :D
