Intermittent wiper stopped working

Featured Replies

Randomly stopped working on every speed setting, it was working fine earlier today !

Does the intermittent have a separate fuse ?

Thanks

I think that the intermittant has a relay.

Is your bonnet shut properly?

Is your bonnet shut properly?

Ahh no it's not, opened it earlier to fill washer bottle but forgot about it oooopppppsssss

Is your bonnet shut properly?

this happened to me about a month ago - didn't notice it until I looked out of the window and noticed it wasn't shut properly and next time I drove the wipers worked - whats the reason???

There's a switch which detects when the bonnet is open. If wipers do not work and the bonnet is shut, often it can be this switch that is faulty.

Strange though because the wipers worked on constant setting just not on intermittent ?

They are working fine on intermittent now I've shut the bonnet, a duh moment I think lol

The switch cuts the wipers out so they don't knock on the bonnet by accident. The assumption is you would know not to lift the bonnet if the wipers are going constantly but might not realise they are on intermittent until they decide to go.
