Chinese Skoda Fabia

Featured Replies

Ok, so first of all: Sorry for my bad English!

So, let's get started!

I have had some contact with someone in Germany who can provide me the Chinese facelifted Skoda Fabia taillights (Picture below)

I also asked this on a Dutch Skoda Forum and they had some qustions, etc. But they were prety positive about it the idea!

Chinese one:

European One:

Differences?

Blinker and reverse-light are now in one unit, just like the current Octavia en Superb Combi.

I can order them in January 2012.

Cost?

200-250 euro!

I'm guessing 200-250 for a set?

Other than that it looks tidier.

Only problem is that you will need the Chinese bumper too. because like the Octavia, the reflectors are now on the bumper... they do look smarter though!

If you buy smoked taillights for lets say: a Golf Mk3 you will also get a set of reflectors to place on your bumpers. :)

But yes, it is expencive for a SET of tails, but looks more OEM! ;)

At last the Fabia gets Skoda's trademark 'C' shape tail lights. About time too!

chrome trim on the boot too

I like my originals better!? :S

+1

Personally I wouldn't choose it even If it was a cost-free option. The european ones seem more widely streched therefore reducing the tall look of the car, whereas the Chinese ones just add up to that making it worse looking in my eyes.

Got nothing personal with Chinese people but that's bad taste...

The boot chrome trim is now available in this country too. I think it was an accessory in the latest book.

i had a nice stainless one from an ebay seller but it was supplied flat and needed gentle bending to shape. I didn't bend it quite enough, due to not wanting to kink it and it has staterd to come away from both the left and right ends.

i will wait til warmer days and remove, redend and refit it better. It still looks ok and is nicer than the Skoda one but i recon theirs will fit or bend easier. it may be abs so will look sh-rubbish sooner, though, if the chrome is not too well done.

I am unsure about the lights... Would prefor ours but two thw same, with two reverse and two foglights.

If the Chinese ones have two of each, it would make it worth while. just a little wiring needed to fit, then! :)

BTW, who said the Chinese have bad taste? Some of their food is marvelous!

I really like the boot chrome trim :)

Any chance to order?

Skoda Uk boot trim in chrome, part number KDA609002A Retailing at £27.

Please bare in mind, the UK one is depicted as being shorter in legnth than the one on the Chinese car... It is a little longer then the number plate reccess. This may actually be better for some, depending on the badging on your particular model, as the longer one goes nearly to the edges of the hatch, taking up space some of the badges would be in, without re-positioning them! A little more subtle, too!

My own, I got from ebay. About the same legnth as UK Skoda one, thicker metal, with a sculpted "Lip". Unfortunately, I have no piccies but I will look for the seller and offer up his details, if they still ahve them. ;)

Thank you for the item number

can't do much worse than a chrome strip from pound land or a discount shop
