G450 sensor adaption using VCDS

Featured Replies

For several weeks now my car has had a G450 error, signal too high. Clearing with VCDS the error returns without even starting the engine. The car has only been driven a short distance with this error.

I have now got a replacement sensor, and need to do the swap and I gather the sensor needs adaption after installation.

My car is a 2.0PD140 with BMP engine and obviously DPF.

I am planning on replacing the sensor this afternoon, so any thoughts otherwise its going in unadapted and the ECU will have to just cope with the soot calculations in the DPF presented and sort itself out.

Have you tried an e mail to Ross Tech for advice, their doesn't seem to be any informatiom on calibrating this se4nsor on the web. Good luck.

Just found this on a german vw site

Exhaust Pressure Sensor (G450) teach

Ga als volgt te werk: Proceed as follows:

auto op contact, car on contact,

start VAG-COM/VCDS, ga naar [01 - Motor] VAG-COM/VCDS start, go to [01 - Engine]

ga naar [Login - 11] go to [Login - 11]

30605 = aanpassing Druksensor 1 voor Uitlaatgas (G450) Pressure sensor for an adjustment = 30605 Exhaust (G450)

let op: schakel na de aanpassing het contact voor minimaal 10 seconden uit! Note: turn the ignition after adjustment for at least 10 seconds off!

Sorry but seems to be in both english and german

How did the repair go

Heavy rain stopped play, I am now hopefully doing it tomorrow. Next week I am doing a long distance drive so keen to sort this asap.

The sensor won't sort itself out without adaptation.

But it is pretty simple to do, above looks ok although of course with our equipment we don't see the channels.

Well, sensor is now changed. Code cleared and and info above entered. Went for a long drive and so far so good, no more engine light and hopefully its now out for good.

Very pleased job went well

Do you know if there is any way of adapting a new sensor without using vcds? This is the first thing to flag up and vcds seems like an expensive option.
