Front N/S nocking

Featured Replies

I love this car but trying to track down some of the faults on it at times is a nightmare! Anyway......

For a while now I've had a nocking which 'sounds' like it's coming from the n/s front end, not everytime but normally when I'm taking a corner and the road surface is uneven/potholed at first I thought it was the belly pan underneath as the idiots who serviced it butchered the heck out of the screws and damaged the clips the screws go into, bought a load of new ones, replaced them all, nice and secure. Still got the noise, I know what a goosed CV joint sounds like and i'm not convinced its this as there's no clicking sound that you'd get with a goosed cv joint, can't see any play in the track rod end or ball joint. Is there anything else worth looking at, really don't wanna have to send into a garage to be diagnosed then fixed :( Thanks!!

Mine did this and it was the lower rear suspension arms on the front. They are the curved ones and a common mot failure, loads of threads on here about them

Well this was a turn up for the books, turned out it was a loose bolt on the upper front control arm on the N/S, tightened it up and it's been whisper quiet since! Winner!
