Bolero speed sensor

Featured Replies

Hi all

Does anyone know what wire runs to the Bolero radio that has the speed sensor info.

Thanks

Alberg

Transmitted via CAN isnt it?

ABS Wheel Speed Sensors > ABS Control Module > Gateway/Instrument Cluster > Radio

Mostly via CAN, indeed.

Yes I agree, but isn´t their a wire that informes the Bolero to raise or lower the volume beacause the car is going at higher speed and then lowering the speed.

Not on a CanBus equipped vehicle, no. A wire can send info to all sorts of units by the different "pulses" it transmits.

Why do you need to know?

Canbus is a computer data bus, so a single wire carries all the data needed but its not just limited to the speed data. Things such as the command to turn the headunit off / on from the ignition, switch on the illumination and the parking sensor display are all sent down the same single wire.

I did not order xenon lights, although it came with the headlight washers.

So installed a xenon H7 kit 4300k ( canbus)

Recently got a levelling kit (cheapo), it works ok except when I acelerate 1,2,3 gear ( don´t have to hard), the lights dip to the fullest,

After some reading in other forums ,I was asked a few times if I had the kit wired to the speed sensor and the one leading to the radio would be enough.

The kit indeed has a wire for such but never did because did not know where.

So I need to try to see if this eliminates the dipping on aceleration.

This kit also has the 3 wire plug to go directly to the headlight motor, since I couldn´t do that I only used the signal wire from the 3 and wired up to the existing wire from the wheel knob inside the car that lowers and raises the light. So instead of the wheel knob sending the signal, the kit is doing that.

The kit also needs 12v always, no problem direct fron fuse box.

Now, manual adjusted lights work even though the headlights aren´t on, so if you turn the wheel knob to lower and then raise the lights the motor will be activated.

To eliminate this, because the kit is on, I got the signal from the parking lights to activate a releigh.

Since its all canbus and no 12v, I got the 12v from the one of the sidelight on the rear taillight, the ones that hold a normal 3w 12v bulb ( 2 on each taillight)

So the signal for the headlight motor is only activated when I turn at least the parking lights.

Any help would be apreciated.

Thanks
