Can someone take a look please (glasgow)....

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Today on my octavia vrs 2007 petrol the exhaust gas control light came on (one that looks like an engine block).

Unsure what it is, no limp mode, car is still driving fine.

I was wondering if someone around the Glasgow area could come and take a look for some beer tokens please?

Many thanks

Ross

It could be the tumble flap motor needs resetting with vag-com mine has done this 3 times , it runs fine with the light on, if it was the coil packs it would run like a bag of spanners( they are replaced free in any case in the recall, yours is just about old enough

If it's anything like my fab vrs, then its the egr valve stuck, dont worry, it will go away after a while, it's a good idea to give the motor some welly to free it, also, put in to every tank occasionally, 'FORTE' diesel treatment,(also do it for petrol i believe) it keeps all components clean including the egr,it is good, i have used it since the RAC guy told me about it when i had to call them out when mine came on while on the way to a speed awareness course, it was that day i was giving my car some welly when this symbol came on the dash.... ps the FORTE costs about £10 off ebay

I think his is Petrol, Octavia, not Fabia
