Tyre Pressures!

Featured Replies

As the Roomy didn't look like it had much of a checkover before sale and the tyres looked like they all had different pressures in them, I thought I'd check them this morning. I looked in all the usual places, door shuts, under the bonnet, in the boot but couldn't find any reference. I then spent half an hour looking through the handbook all to no avail.

Eventually I found on page 188 in the owners handbook "The tyre inflation pressure for summer tyres is indicated on the inside of the fuel filler flap". Whaaaat?!! Come on Skoda, this is NOT good enough! Every car I've ever owned has the correct tyre pressures for all the various tyre sizes IN THE HANDBOOK! Not on the fuel filler flap!

On the other hand, what a stupid place to put them, many people (myself included) keep the handbook for the car inside the house with the service guide, invoices, radio codes, etc. It doesn't have any useful information for "on the go" or "in the event of a breakdown", so it might as well all stay safe in the house. Having the pressures on the fuel flap is brilliant, they're there whenever you happen to be in a convenient place to check.

Pretty sure it's "good enough" since VWs have all had this even back to my 1999 Golf (the oldest VAG I've owned), so I think you're getting all worked up about nothing...

Ah yes point taken. Maybe I should rephrase that and say Put the tyre pressures in the handbook as well as on the fuel filler flap.

Had VAG cars in the family since 1982..........get used to it!.......saves the handbook getting dirty!!!!!.. B)

The handbook for the Mk1 Fabia had tyre pressures in it (as well as the filler cap), but the Polo handbook referred you to the filler cap. Some other makes have the pressures on the drivers' side B pillar.
