More on the digital readout problem

Featured Replies

ON my 07 Roomster automatic the digital readout on the dash which I've commented on before, seems to be linked to the service requirement display, can anyone comment on this and can anyone let me know how to disable the service requirement information? My car is 5 years old with only 18,500 miles on the clock, I don't do a lot of mileage!, so the dash board telling me I have to service it isn't needed.

Fixed servicing is every 10K miles OR 12 months, whichever comes 1st.

Just because you haven't done 10K since the last service may mean it is due a service because of the time that has elapsed.

^^^^^^ yup. It'll get you on miles or time elapsed. There's no escape (other than servicing the thing)

On MaxiDot equipped models there is a reset option. On models without Maxidot, dunno :giggle:

Good point, and thank you very much, I usually have my cars serviced annually at MOT time, but your point about not doing the mileage and still needing it serviced isn't something I thought about, so once again, thank you.

Thanks to all of you, I hadn't thought about it enough and realise that your comments are really good ones, I was hoping not to go a main dealer to have it serviced but it's looking like I may have to as they will reset the dash service indicator. Anyway, thanks to you all and I'm really glad I found this forum for the knowledge and down to earth answers from people who know the answers and don't charge me £50:00 an hour for it!

Denis you can reset the dash reminder yourself (only for fixed servicing schedules) the process will be described in your owners handbook .

Now the car is out of warranty there is no 'need' to pay dealer prices, a cheaper VAG specialist will be just as good.
