P2004, P2015 "Intake Manifold Flap: Bank 1 Stuck Open" ?

Featured Replies

I had a CEL come on last week.

A trip to the dealer and they did some sort of factory reset for the car (not sure exactly what it entailed) which fixed the issue and its not come back.

A quick google on the code came back with "Intake Manifold Flap: Bank 1 Stuck Open". Anyone else had this? Is it something to worry about?

TIA.

Yes it happens about once every 3 months, get implausable signal, tumble flap motor, resett it with vag-com

no need to worry

yours is a 2010 Tsi model anyway so Skoda will reflash for free

To update this thread - the CEL went out after the re-set but came back on again. Dealer diagnosis: new intake manifold required, luckily under warranty still. booked in next tues to have the work done.

Update: new intake manifold fitted yesterday - all seems fine now.

I don`t know how an intake manifold could mabe the tumble flap fail, one is hardware the other is software, does it look new ?

The linkage for the flaps in the inlet manifold fails. Usually the rod wears were it fits onto the ball socket.

Also had the sensor on the end of the flaps fail so the ecu thinks they are stuck in position as the ecu has no feed back.

On the TFSi the flaps are actuated by a motor, on the TSi they are vacuum operated iirc so has a movement sensor not unlike a TPS just behind where the oil filter is.

yep, that's my understanding.

if you google to fault code its not uncommon on the TSI.
