Gateway ID please

Featured Replies

Hi, I am new to the site and have found some really useful info. I know the question has been asked but need a bit more info. I have a 2008 Octavia VRS Estate which is my 1st major car purchase for years after 9 years of a 1.8t Passat sport. I was offered and bought for £80 a Bolero stereo including code. I then did a bit of research to find out about the gateway biz. I understand it is either in passenger foot well or behind fuse box. If I am correct it will need to be series K or higher. Will this be literally written on the gateway or is it in code form? How can I identify what I have got? Thanks in advance,Regards Adrian

Unfortunately I can't help you but it may be worth posting this in the Octavia II forum... The site issues is geared towards issues with the actual forum :)

In a 2008 model I would be surprised if you needed to change the gateway.

It is likely to be up behind the relays behind the speedo etc.

A bit fiddly to get to, some find it easier going in from the scuttle panel and removing the wiper linkage.

It will be printed on it, it is the last letter of the part number. Any local member with VCDS can perform a scan and get the revision that way.

Or, just fit the Bolero and see if you have a flat battery in the morning. If you do, you need a new gateway emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

andyvee is right MY2008 doesn´t need to change the gateway.
