For a six month old car I was shocked!

One of my workmates has bought a sportage diesel , so I entered the same mileage as yeti...

Quite a big difference in value there! so much for their dodgy image!!

Just hope that it doesnt lose any more if i do want to sell it!!

Thats the hit you take buying new.

Im more surprised that the kia holds so much of its value, rather than what the yeti has lost...

Webuyanycar has offered me much more than I paid for it for mine (however so did my dealer!) And they would be very hard pressed to fault mine with only 4500 miles on the clock so far.

Links no longer work!

Basically the kia was "worth" about 2k more than the yeti if it was sold now. I compared my se against a 1 diesel with 8k miles on an 11 plate!

I don't really trust valuation because there isn't enough around and they are not old enough. According to autotrader, the normal Yeti start at around £12k?

The value of a car depends very much on a number of factors; usual suspects being spec and colour and so far in the case of the Yeti, I would say diesel 4x4 are holding the most value. Also think a key factor is where in the country your selling it, who too and the timing. Would not have replaced my original Yeti so quickly had I not received the offer I did from James at Allams. In comparison my local dealers would have wanted my previous Yeti plus my sons old Fabia I two or three times over to match the cost to change and probably still stuck it on the forecourt at the same price as Allams :o

Take absolutely no notice of What Car? valuations. They are as random and inaccurate as the data pages of the same magazine. What Car? reckon my Yeti is worth around £10k. I recently dropped by a couple of dealers and was offered £11 - £11500 in part exchange for March delivery. This was in addition to the discounts on the cars I was taking a look at (including Kia) and so the figure represented the trade value that the dealership was willing to stand the car at. I paid £13600 for this car brand new nearly two years ago. That has to be about the most impressive value retention of any new car on sale today!

Whats the point wasteing time time with this if you don't want/intend to change? - its a bit like the stock market/house prices etc it just gives you sleepless nights, the only time worry is if you need to cahnge cars, sell shares, move house otherwise don't look!!

I don't take much notice of valuations. In the end, it's the good old 'price to change' that matters and who cares what was notionally given as trade-in or notionally charged for the new vehicle. I recently negotiated a good deal to replace my wife's Fiat Panda Cross with a Suzuki SX4. I either got a very good trade-in and small discount; or a poor trade-in and terrific discount; or goodish trade-in and goodish discount. Whichever, I was happy to part with the cash required!

I agree with the above sentiment , if I feel I am being screwed I walk away!!
