And the wait goes on - starting to worry....

Featured Replies

Hi,

I ordered my Yeti (CR170 Elegance, Pano Sunroof, Park Assist etc) back in May 2011 and still haven't even been given a build date yet. I don't have an order number (ordered via broker) and getting no where. I was originally quoted 20-26 weeks (now 35) - and I've been quoted a March delivery.

Is anyone else in the same boat - and at what point should I start to worry? Apparently, they have many other customers in the same boat - but they still won't give me the Skoda order number so I can chase it up with Skoda UK.

I note on here that people have ordered way after me and have already had their orders satisfied so I'd really appreciate updates from anyone else in the same position.

The broker used is based in Chesterfield...

Sick of: 1) moaning and 2) waiting now.

Cheers

Steve

Ask your broker for the Skoda order number. Then ring SUK.

Grrr. I feel for you. This is one of the main reasons I went with Drivethedeal since you deal directly with a real Å koda dealer avoiding this sort of stress.

170 engines are VERY, VERY scarce I believe hence the wait. Has anyone that got theirs faster than you got a 170?

Keep faith. It will be worth it once the beastie arrives.

I ordered my Superb through Broadspeed which in turn was ordered through the same people as you, although mine only took twice as long to arrive as I was 1st told (arrived in 26 weeks) I feel your pain through the lack of information they give you.

Hi,

I've tried this (multiple times) and got no where - not company policy...

I've sent another email to them and continue to hope (probably in vain) that sanity will prevail.

Not sure really. I've been trawling this board for some time and a number of people seem to have been lucky with their delivery times - not jealous at all!!

If anyone specifically ordered a CR170 ELEG after May 2011 and has received it already, I'd be very interested to hear from them. It'll add weight to my moaning!

Cheers,

Like you I ordered mine 6 May 11; but have no order number or build date. UK Discounts have said it should be here by March...

My 170 Elegance with sunroof etc was ordered around 25 May and is due with my dealer in time for the 1 March. Build date was week 1 or 2, can't remember which. Expecting an email any day to say it is in but nothing as yet. Will drop the dealer an email now and see if there is an update.

My order was placed for 170 elegance with offroad kit ,tow bar prep, heated front windscreen on the 4th Oct 11. I was given a delivery date of early Feb to late Feb.December given build date of week 5 beginning of Jan it had moved to week 2 ,today was told they have its VIN no and that it should be with dealer by the second week of Feb.

I have used the same dealer every time and the delivery times have been spot on for the last 15yrs. What are some doing that it takes so long to get new cars in?.

Ordered my 170 Elegance mid Sept 2011 told at the time delivery should be around mid Feb, dealer rang last week has got build week and should have it for collection mid March

Spoke to my dealer, my car is in the UK and is due at the garage next week. I will collect as arranged on 1 March, giving plenty time for towbar fitting, cherished transfer etc

The spec on mine is sunroof, tpm, heated screen, spare wheel and annapurnas.

Ordered mine (2.0 TDI 170 Elegance Muscovado/Gobi with just the spare wheel & heated screen options) the week before Christmas and given May as approx delivery. No build week confirmed as yet. Already feels like too long - don't know how those of you who've already been waiting six months plus cope!

'Tis a struggle I tell you! Took a look at a Kia Sportage today - but decided against it. It just wasn't............... yeti enough!

It liked the styling of he Sportage so when I was considering a replacement for my last Yeti I took one for a test drive. I have to say that I wasn't that impressed, it was a fairly lifeless thing to drive. It also lacked the practicality of the Yeti in that the boot appeared smaller and the rear seats did not fold flat. Interms of value for money the mid range model which comes with half leather interior and panaramic sunroof costs 28,800 over here and even with dealer discounts the price to change was way over the top.

That is interesting. I must admit, to just sit in, the Sportage felt pretty good. I'm about 6' tall and there was loads of headroom and plenty of adjustment. I haven't had the heart to arrange a test drive but you're the second person (the What Car video report was the other) to report that its not that good to drive. Quite pleased actually, because i was quite impressed with the way the car felt stationary....

I too was inmpressed the way it felt stationary as was SWMBO. The look and build quality of the cockpit was spot on, the seats were supportive and it wrapped around you but it just didn,t tick the box in terms of handling and feedback.

Makes you worry, doesn't it. Ordered my 170 in October and originally quoted Mid March, but have heard nothing as of yet, fingers crossed, seems Autofinders are doing a lot of business on yeti's, but can they deliver??

I'm hoping so. They say they have a lot of customers for this spec in the same boat - but they don't seem to be pressing their dealerships too much. They seem unwilling/unable to provide any Skoda order references so you're pretty stuck really.

I presume your order was October 2011 - in which case what the bloody hell has happened to mine given that mine was ordered a full four months ahead of yours?? Was your spec similar (i.e pano sunroof, etc)?

:(

I also prefer to deal with a dealer who you can talk to face-to-face. I had an unbelievably amazing trade-in/discount quote from the Chesterfield-based firm when looking to change my wife's car - so, I didn't believe it but used it as a basis for negotiating a realistic deal locally.

One of the many reasons we have had so many Skodas is the excellent local delareship ... wouldn't deal with a broker through choice.

You live and learn I suppose. I just couldn't turn down the chance of circa £3k discount - and none of our local dealers could even come close.

Hello Steviek

I am seeing more and more complaints about Yeti orders taking months on end in the uk, if not more.

Out of sheer curiosity , I called the Skoda dealer here in Israel, and asked the man at the other end (that i know personally as he sold me my yeti) how long it would take wait for a YETI DSG 140 HP 4X4 EXPERIENCE (just like Johanns) which is the exact model I have that was delivered to me in mid Sept 2002 after a 10 DAY WAIT only. TO MY AMAZEMENT,HE TOLD ME TODAY THEY HAVE THE YETI IN STOCK , TAKING 10 DAYS TO BE DELIVERED , AND EVEN GAVE ME A CHOICE OF THREE COLOURS TO CHOOSE FROM.I dont know why you have these redicilous waiting times in the UK ,whilst here in Israel the yeti is readily availiable ANYTIME , even if it is in great demand,as it is over here.I think the issue has to be looked into deeply by someone.

For one Israel has LHD cars and the UK has RHD. Also people here tend to order their cars with very specific options that take longer. Furthermore we have many more dealers and each dealer can only order X amount of Yetis per month. If you are unlucky to order your car from a dealer that has already used his total allocation you go to the back of HIS queue and only once that time has passed does the order go through for the car and THEN the real wait starts. A total pain as no dealer will ever tell you upfront that they have used all their allocation and that you will wait an ADDITIONAL few months ordering from them rather than from someone else...
