Opinions / buying advice please.......

Hello Fabia owners!

One of the guys in the office is looking at this: http://www.vfmautosales.co.uk/used-cars/skoda-fabia-2-0-elegance-5dr-ac-groombridge-201136413697251

......however, my knowledge is limited when it comes to Fabias (have a Felly-Fun and an Octy), so I thought I'd ask the experts!

Any advice / pointers would be appreciated?

Is there anything that can be 'played with' on VCDS on these?

Cheers!

Alex

71 views and no comments. Very supportive, thanks.

I'll tell him not to bother as none of the current owners have a good thing to say about them.

That's because is a 2.0lt which is a rare car (also has the optional Skoda non vrs body kit fitted)......the 2.0lt is an older engine and thirsty but fairly solid....as for faults.....just search the fabia section.....

All fabias suffer the following main points:

Faulty PAS sensor

Failure of console bush (rear bush on front lower wishbone)

Failure of ARB drop links

Failure of ARB saddle bush

Failure of seals between the door skin and the window mech carrier on rear doors leading to water leakage

Rear beam axle bush wears out

There are other problems........just like any car!!!... B)

Cheers dude.  :) :)

Have passed the information on. He's off to a test-drive on saturday. The only thing he's after as an extra is a front arm-rest. Is there and OE one or is he looking for a looky-likey?

I have suggested Briskoda membership too ;)

Cheers

I think people normally use one from a golf mk4!

Have passed that info on, thanks.

He's bought the car, £1500 plus trading in a W-reg Golf TDi that's got 250,000 the clock.

Full history with cam-belt and pump change thrown in too. Tax to end of May.

So, another Skoda convert then. ;) ;) (Before the Golf was a Saab - which blew up).

Personally I'd have spend the money on the Golf - service, new belt and new rear-shocks was the shopping list. Everything else looked in quite good nick inside, for a car that's travelled to the moon!
