Bolero Aux output - help!

Featured Replies

My new car came with a standard Bolero stereo unit with a 6 cd changer.

I don't know what a cd is anymore and really want just a lead or socket that i can plug into the top of my iphone.

New to car audio, can this be done, how much would it cost? Is it hard to do, can i do it myself or will i need to take it into to be robbed by a shop?

Hope someone can help, Thanks!

Not sure about the greenline, but the elegance has a socket for mp3 player in the jumbo box under the armrest if it's music you want to play through the HU.

There should already be a socket in the centre armrest. Get a 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack cable and plug the ends in. Now press Media on the bolero and select Aux from the top of the screen.

Dont forget the Bolero can hold 6 CD's full of MP3 encoded tracks, its not just for normal CD's, then you also have the SD card slot. A lot of music can be stored without the need for an ipod or other MP3 player.

Cheers for the responses, it seems i may have opened a can of worms.

There is no armrest, so no jack, checked all the places suggested for finding this, it isn't there.

Have learnt i can rig a jack off the aux inputs on the back of the head unit, but it seems the aux input isn't selectable on the touchscreen. The option to enable it is also missing from the settup menu.

More complicated :-(

Anyone know how to enable the aux in the bolero unit?

You men it is darkened out?

If so I think it only becomes available when something is plugged into it.

When the media button is pressed it brings up the media screen, currently the sd card is selected and music plays from this just fine.

The cd player has no cd in it, but i can't select the cd player on the touchscreen anyway?

Just like the CD choice on the media screen, when pushed there is no response from the AUX button on the screen.

If you push the settings button to the side, and then go into the media menu there is three tick-box selections available, one to activate bluetooth audio (can be ticked but does nothing??) and two more to remove song titiles or and something else trivial. There is no activate aux input tick-box as i've read there should be.

Anyone able to enlighten me on how i might get the aux working on this radio?

The Manual doesn't help? Bolero Manual

Input AUX-IN

– The input for external audio sources AUX-IN is located under the armrest of

the front seats.

– Activate the AUX-IN input by pressing the button MEDIA and by subsequently

pressing the function key AUX .

– External audio sources, which are connected to the AUX-IN input, cannot be

operated via the radio.

Put a CD in the player and check if that enables the CD option. The only thing I can think of then is theAUX will not light up until it is actually connected as my one is lit up, BT Audio is greyed out in my one though.

Thanks again for the replies, have tried a CD in it, this now lights up the CD option!

However the AUX input is still greyed out, i'm optimistic that fitting a lead to this and plugging something into it will light the AUX button up.

I have also heard that i might need to get it programed on using VCDS(?!?!?!)

Does anyone know of a place in Hampshire or the south coast that might be able to help with this VCDS programing thing?

Check >> HERE <<

The Greenline doesn't come with a 3.5mm Aux. That's what almost stopped me buying mine, it was only that the Bolero was in short supply towards the end of last year so I got an Amundsen instead as standard. (which does)
