Xenon headlight bulbs needing replacing?

Featured Replies

My car is now 7 yrs old and covered 150k miles. I do quite a bit of night time driving and have recently noticed that dipped beam seams rather dim. I'm thinking that maybe the xenon bulbs are getting a bit old?

1. Is the D2S the correct type of xenon bulb fitted to a Superb MK1?

2. How easy are they to replace?

3. Will the beam alignment need setting up afterwards?

Thanks for your time.

I had the same thoughts too on mine as in comparison to my Nissan Primera Sport with factory Xenons the light output on the Superb with factory bixenons is poor. I changed the bulbs and no improvement.

I read somewhere that tiny specs of particles get inside the projector and reduce the light output. I don't know if a "spring clean" is practical though, have not tried it.

I changed mine at 200,000 miles for the same reason and it made a huge difference.
