can anyone tell me the biggest size battery(with the most "cca") that will fit a felicia (1999 1.9d)?

mine is now about 5-6yrs old and struggling even with newish glow plugs.

i think the main problem is that the car usually sits for several days at a time without being used (ever since i`ve had it) and because its parked in the street i cant charge up the battery without removing it.

I've look into this recently, the biggest battery that will go in is an 075 type, which is the battery a diesel model should have fitted anyway.. The reason you are limited in choice is because the space in which the battery has to fit is a limited size, and the terminal configuration on the top is another limiting factor.

5-6 years is a good innings for a battery tbh, maybe one of your local fast fit places could stick a battery tester on there to see if you are getting the full cca output.

just been out to the car, lifted bonnet and checked voltage-12.1 (its been standing since tues lunchtime), fearing the worst i got in and activated glowplugs 3 times and it fired up ! just!

the battery on it is a "halfords" calcium- hbc075-610 cca (4 yr warranty)

Sheesh £80 for a battery, that's daylight robbery. I paid £36 for mine.

I know this is a few weeks late but this place is worth a look at, they will send out via courier too...
