Adrian Flux Very very bad service!

Featured Replies

Ok... first of all i will say that i may of been unlucky, or this lot are a bunch of jokers. ill let you decide.

I first got with Flux after my Bora renewal was due and they came up with the best price after shopping about. happy days. (so i thought)

So i take out the policy, pay my deposit etc and drive as normal. The paperwork came through a few days later and i notice that i was NOT insured to drive my car to work. I knew hands down i would not of taken a policy out that would not allow me to drive to work, i also remember joking with the girl i was dealing with about "all i seem to do nowdays is drive to work" I ring flux and point out there mistake and ask them to amend it and send me a new certificate.

To be told that i was lieing and i deffo took out that policy and i would have to front another 100 odd quid. after pointing out to them that i have effectivly been driving around un-insured and im 100% sure on the policy i took out i got to speak with someone else. They too told me that it was my mistake and i would have to fork out more money and advised me that these calls are recorded and will be used against me in court if i was found to be trying to be fraudulent against my claim.

So im now fruadulent and a lier... I advised them to go listen to the call i made when i first took out the policy and get back to me.

No calls back, i rang them... low and behold!!!! they was wrong. They sorted out the policy and i could now drive the bora to work.

I took that as teething problems and beings i paid out a fat deposit for the policy left it at that.

So i Get a vRS. As seen in another post on here Flux quoted me £1800. So the policy was canceled on the bora via a phone call. i was told i had to confirm this via e-mail. Fair enough i did as i was told. I was then told i had to pay £285 to cancel. Long story short... 3 different calls, to 3 different people, the cost to pay is actually £91. (just a bit different no?)

I just need to write another Email to say i understand this and it will all be done. (long.com)

I get sent a letter dated 28th saying i have to pay it within 7 days o the letter. This i receivd on the 1st of feb. I just spent out on loads of stuff for the house and until Tuesday next week have no spare money.

So as with past insurance/other companies i ring them to say ill pay it this tuesday, was this ok, sorry its a couple days late, but regarding the late letter i thought they would understand........ Wrong.. I was going to bit the bullet and borrow the money from work for a couple days and pay it until i was told if i dont pay it before saturday this week i would be forwarded to the bailiffs.. (in quite a sarcastic manner) WTF!???

What kind of attitude/customer service is that? to top it off.. . i got a email asking how i felt with the service... obviously i marked poor and in the "what can we do to improve our service" i answered listen to customers more.

and hour later i get a call... again, very patronising and sarcastic asking me what i would like them to listen to, and they have just rang me to listen to me... so go ahead sir..

By now i got the arse hole and told them politley to do 1.

Im sorry Mr flux, but no amount of me being polite, patient and following the right paths to resolve issues got me anywhere. Im hoping posting this mite make you "listen" to me and you may take time to employ phone staff that can remain professional at all times.

Im hoping this will not be deleted within 30 seconds and that other can read about my experience.

Booo at Mr Flux!

Definitely won't be deleted as would like to hear of a good resolution to this, especially as I personally am a Flux customer (happy as larry so far though)

Sounds like they're getting a similar problem to Play.com.. getting really busy, really quickly and have lost the personal and professional touch, perhaps?

it looks that way.. for many years i heard people praising them. of recent, it has been more of the other. I used A plan before and they were amazing, always bent over backwards for me in th 4 years i was with them. i was actually Gutted to leave them but they could not get my bora renewal down. I never had the chance to ring them for a price on the vRS. :(

I had problems with flux when I had to unexpectedly cancel my insurance policy when I emigrated.

I was very unhappy about the cancellation costs and EXTREMELY aggressive collection method.

If you search seat cupra.net you will find others who have experienced problems with flux.

You have my sympathies!

I have been very happy with brentacre insurance services.

thank you dan, unless your going to sway my cancelation fee i dont see much point in having any more contact with yourselves. the damage is done im afraid.

How wierd is that... I used to be with A-Plan as well then moved over to Flux (who funnily enough had me with the same insurer as A-Plan but could offer me a lower premium).

Flux were ok for the one year I had them on the Octy but when I sold the Octy I had to transfer the insurance to a Felicia only two months after I'd paid for another full year on the Octy and there was me thinking I'd get a load of money back with it being a cheaper car and all but no... I ended up paying £15 more ("admin fee") on top of what I'd already paid earlier in the year for the Octy

I could have just cancelled the insurance and got a quote from someone else but I couldn't be ar*ed to go through the hassle of trying to get back the money from Flux for ten unused months of cover so just had to grin and bear it.

My renewal's coming up at the start of March, I'm expecting to have a good laugh at the figure that comes through on the letter

Renewals are always hilarious!

I think the government has introduced legislation that stops insurers and their agents from ripping off motorists with there ridiculous cancellation/ admin fees.

It's a shame that some the government has to force doing the right thing on companies and they don't select the fair way.

I got ripped off for 9 months cover I didn't take and had to pay additional fees.

BTW I think Flux sub-contract bad-debts to an extremely aggressive debt management 'company' so take care.

ha! let em be aggressive as they want! ;)

I've been with Flux for 7 years now and never had any problem.

I use them as they gave me the best price on a modded car and no insurance company i know can match them (i have tried). However i've never had a claim and pay in full as 12 months is only £300. I've heard a lot of negative press about them but can honestly say they're great with me.

I've heard similar tales about Flux sadly on other forums. They have gained the nickname 'A-DRAIN FLUX' now. If they do not sort thier clearly hopeless staff out & dire customer care, they will end up losing plenty more customers, and they need to remember, if someone gets shafted, or bad service, they will clearly tell everyone they know.

I went with HIC as they got the better reviews, as well as being the sister company to Adrian Flux it means they have access to the same database of insurers. Staff have always been nice too.

But insurance companies are all bad in some respects. Its finding the least bad of them all!

I did LOL (pretty much) when I asked how much it would be as an existing customer to add that red 306 to my policy for a couple of weeks.... Was totally stupid!

However, I have been more than happy with the mongrel's cover. Hoping the price drops a bit more still when I renew next.

My renewal's coming up at the start of March, I'm expecting to have a good laugh at the figure that comes through on the letter

Got the renewal price today... Flux tried their best... but I'm going somewhere else this year.

Last years price (on the Octy VRS) was £530. The renewal price I got today (Felicia) was £410. After speaking with their renewals department they shopped around insurers and the cheapest they could do was £330. But I'd already got a quote from Aviva for £287 including protected NCD.

Admittedly the big saving on Aviva comes from the 15 weeks free for new customers having 4+ years NCD so next year it will go up... so time to move again.

  • 2 weeks later...

I've been an AF customer for the last 6-7yrs and have found the prices good and the staff helpful. I have a limited mile policy on a classic car and will be transferring it to the new car on Tuesday (Skoda Superb Elegance). I've never made a claim and my policy has cost me between £200-250 for the last 3yrs and that includes full European breakdown cover. The limited mileage, my age +14yrs no claims helps a great deal. I also pay in full each year as it's reasonably cheap for me.

My current car is a group 17, the Superb is a group 11 I believe... My policy runs until Oct so I'm expecting there to be no extra to pay at all, aside from perhaps their £25 admin fee.

But I shall follow the problems others are having with interest when it comes to renewal time and check around a little more... I have been happy so far, but now I'm aware that there may be issues creeping into their customer service... I perhaps won't be so quick to accept a renewal.

are you insured direct with AF as when i phoned there a broker??

I think I'm with red star equity... would have to check the docs.

Cool

But its through AF?

Got me rather confused?

Ive read soo many horror stories online about these cheap company wanting proof of everything

Car mileage

Owners docs

Proof of employment

Even when you had your last bowel movement :o

Yeah, when I first went through them, they wanted proof of mileage, pics of the car (agreed value), copies of the thatcham certificate... Not sure if that was AF or whoever the insurance was with though.

I've not had any problems dealing with them so far, but never had to make any sort of claim and the only time I changed policy was from one MX6 to another MX6.

Jesus christ...

How do you prove the mileage??

Mot copy??

Not used to all this faf!! Ive never needed to supply any decent company with anything!!

Sounds like a bit of a bubble to me!

Because I was on a limited mileage policy, they would check on the database that records mileages taken at the MOT and then you provide the current mileage at time of renewal. Then the following year you do it again and they can see how much you've done.

It's a pain, but for a premium close to £200 each year including European breakdown cover... I can't complain. :)

Ah right well i dont think ill be on a limited mileage...

Im after upto 15,000 per year.

Ive just read an unbelievable amount of horror stories online about non mainstream insurances.

I cannot go mainstream due to my conviction of a dd40.... :(
