Just bought a VAG 450 scanner from Ebay and have found a double 8 pin socket by fuses behind front right dash, but scanner plug slightly different and won't fit. Is there a socket I haven't found or do I have the wrong scanner?

On the MKI Fabia it was behind the cubby hole under the light switch (hinge the box down) not scanned a MKII Fabia or Roomster yet, but all the newer cars they are all in pretty much the same location - above the drivers feet.

that's the one I found but the scanner plug does not fit. So I guess a return and refund is next.

Do you have a pic of your plug? they will only fit one way and can be a pretty snug fit the first time.

That looks fine , try it again, make sure it is going into the socket the correct way (in your photo you are holding the plug upside down) as I say the 1st time you use it it may be quite tight so make sure the plug is square and give it a firm push.

Got the plug on with some vaseline! but got 'link error' with five tries so it must be for non TSI motors. Refund coming through from seller.
