Bolero aux input - VCDS

Featured Replies

Learning as i go, have seen the back of the stereo now and the pins are clear (plug and lead on order to arrive this week)for an aux cable to be fitted to.

I but have been told that i should still be able to select the aux input on the Bolero unit in the media menu, but i can't, it stays greyed out.

After many questions here and elsewhere, it's been suggested that someone with VCDS can activate this?

Does anyone have any knowledge on this, can help or guide me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance :-)

wait till the loom arrives, it probably will not be shaded once the loom is plugged in. still might need coding too

I think you'll find that only devices that are active/connected are 'seen' by the radio.

With your source pluuged in then Bolero will acknowledge it.

The SD card is grey until you plug it in.

Agreed, anything not connected be that SD card DVD or AUX imput are not available to be selected until the item is inserted.

I have also seen the option in VCDS but only coded one car IIRC.

Cheers for the info, i was quietly hoping that would be the case!

Cable arrives next week, will feed back the result.

Cable arrived, installed, failure :-(

Once plugged in, the aux input is still greyed out. Plugged an audio source in to confirm this, no change.

Looks like i'm back to the drawing board here,

Now all the hardware is connected get it coded with VCDS

Yep, i think i'll now be looking for someone to do the coding, anyone around the South of England know how to do it?

Hi,

I'm looking to install an aux-in to my Bolero radio too. Could you tell me what cable I need, and let me know if the coding thing works?

Thanks!

Oxford any good to you? I have seen an option to enable the Aux on a Bolero through VCDS. My micro CAN is due to be sold on Ebay in 8 days, so if you wanna have a go with mine you'd better be quick!!

Ps, where did you get the lead from/how much? Might stick one on mine before I sell the interface.

Update:

Missed a trick there with 61 Octy's offer, i've tried a number of things now, even took the car into Skoda and asked a tech there his advice, all he did was shrug and ask me if there was a plug i hadn't found yet . . .

So back to square one, this must be a VCDS solution.
