35mm Or 25mm Lowering Springs

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

Thinking of getting some lowering springs for my VRS.

Can anyone who's lowered there car by that sort of amount post some pictures please?

A Red one would be perfect! :D

Thanks,

Carl

If your lowering for looks coilovers will be the best bet. Because the vRS are so high as standard, lowering springs that drop it a small amount don't really improve the looks. Any springs that give a bigger drop will result in a super bouncy ride.

25mm eibachs on mine. More oem looking than slammed, which is what I like.

Doesn't really make it low, just lower than the standard tractor height.

Recent pic, currently modelling the dirty winter look.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm also looking to tidy the look up more than completely modify it.

But as matt1chelski says I've heard a lot that the ride gets too rough and bouncy.

Hows the ride on your eibachs?

Cheers,

Carl

The ride is great, not bouncy at all!

To be fair, that's what the Eibach pro kit is all about, suitable for standard shocks without being to silly about it.

My mate has apex 40mm drop with standard shocks on his fabia vrs and the ride is just comical!

You brake hard and I swear the splitter scrapes the deck.

Lowered -25mm on Koni shocks & springs now removed.. but still have. :)

^ I was never a massive fan of those wheels, but decking it totally give them a new edge! Looks stunning

Definitely looks better in the top 2 pictures. The other 2 are too low IMHO.

Been thinking about lowering mine and i think -25mm drop is best.

You can never go to low :-)

I just prefer the almost standard look the 25mm drop gives, rather than the dragging across the floor look. I like to be able to go over speed humps without too much fuss and without the need to keep thinking, will my sump be left behind when i drive away. Just my opinion though and everyone has their own tastes.

I'm -25mm and I just get over the square speedhumps without catching my splitter.

Even just lowered 1 inch there's a couple of petrol stations around here which I now

can't use at all due to steep ramps up and down into and out of the forecourt.

My MX5 is even worse, thats quite low as well. I have to mount the square humps

with 2 wheels in the centre to avoid scraping on them.

Round here I dont seem to have many issues, although i`v always gone slowly over speed bumps even in a stock hight car. No issues with multi story car parks either, the only thing that is a pain is the ****ty little "sump smasher" speed bumps, I go over them with one wheel. When I ran D90`s and super low it was a different story, hence why I raised it up, still pretty low though.

That looks smashing Matt!

That looks smashing Matt!

 Cheers mate! Looks like I spoke too soon though, went to sainsburys straight after replying to this and my splitter had a bit of a incident.
