Samsung Galaxy S locked out

Featured Replies

My gf has a samsung galaxy S and has had for the last 8 months anyway its lost it signal this morning and has a blue circle with a cross through it on screen, anyway we googled it and didn't come up with anything so gf phoned 02 customer services only to be told the phone has been reported stolen and has been locked out

The phone was bought 8 months ago and was bought from a shop on amazon, we have all orignal box etc, if it had been locked in first month then yeah maybe she bought a stolen phone but after 8 months

I thought if its done by mistake once a phone was locked out that was it and it couldn't be reversed or can a network do it if she goes into shop with box, recipt etc

What do o2 say?

If you have box receipt etc they should be able to remove if someone has reported yours stolen. You may have to take it all to an o2 shop though.

Otherwise there is FA you can do if its been blocked.

02 customer services said take it into shop with proof of ownership and they would see what they could do

If you have no luck with O2, get in touch with Amazon, their customer service is very good and I believe anyone selling via them has to abide by their rules.

Also was the phone possibly used when you bought it through the shop? just a thought but if that handset was on a contract someone sold it to the shop, they then stopped paying the bill etc. Then providers will often add the handset to the Block list, as far as I'm aware the providers can't actually see a reason for it being on the block list just that its on there.

Been into 02 shop today and phone was a contract upgrade that somebody has stopped paying so the phone has been blocked and black listed so will never prob work again according to the tech guys,

when you swith phone on it fires up with t mobile logo so she went in there aswell and bloke in there said he would see what he could do about getting it unblocked but didn't make any promises,

Contacted seller on amazon and awaiting his reply before we contact customer services as we have a decent case already as it was sold as sim free which it obviously wasn't altho it had been unlocked to any network

The phone isnt part of someones contract as all the networks will happily tell you when you have any issues.

If it's T-mob branded, then go to them, show you purchased in good faith and request it's unblocked and instead the phone they've been using on the contract is blocked instead. They DO know all the IMEI's used by a SIM, as some networks at one stage charged you an upgrade fee if you started using a different phone.

I'd also contact your card issuer you used on Amazon.
