Any Yetis in Costa Blanca in the beginning of March?

Featured Replies

We will be based in Altea for a few weeks in the beginning of March. Any recommendations for interesting drives around the area?

Hello, we wont be there in March but Im trying to get back out there this summer although, time wise, it isnt looking likely at the moment. :(

We've taken the car to the Costa Blanca for the last two years, for a month each time, and we absolutely love it there. We go in August when the kids are off as we also like the 40 degree heat. B) We are based up in Altea Hills and regularly visit Calpe (15 mins away, mainly for the beach during the day and a couple of particularly good restaurants for the evening), Javea, Denia and of course, Altea Old town with the church at the top is a must see imo.

Heres my thread from two years back:

Altea Hills 2010

Lovely area, very pretty, great locals and fantastic roads too! B)

Im sure you'll have a great time. :)

Villmmartin got me but not back out there till July .

Nice report FocuZtech. I do remember reading it, but forgot in the meantime. Our rented apartment is right smack in Altea, 150 m from the church, so walking distance to most things in town. We will check out your favorite spots and add a few, like Guadalest.

The SM turned out to be brilliant two years ago in Andalucia - snow both ways there (6" in Barcelona was a lot of fun!!) and torrential rains with the associated rock and mudslides in the mountains. Hopefully the current freeze will abate in the next three weeks - but 5-10° and sun is better than our -5-10 here.

Ah yes, Guadalest! Supposed to have done that on the last two trips but havent yet made it. Its supposed to be fantastic. Agreed regarding the temperatures too! 10 degrees would feel comparatively tropical! :giggle: Good luck and Id love to see some photos upon your return. :)
