New YETI 4x4 DSG annoying noise and rattle

Featured Replies

I know that there are already several topis on the diffrent noises and problems with the Yeti, but after reading them all I still haven't found out the reason behind the noise in my Yeti.

I have a brand new YETI 2.0 TDI DSG 4x4, which I picked up from the dealer at the end of December 2011. After only 900 km or 560 miles I got this annoying noise that comes out from the rear of the car. More precisely the noise is heard when pressing the accelerator and then let go and for now this happens only in 2nd and 3rd gear! I havent heard it in 4,5 or 6 gear. However sometimes the noise is made when I go in reverse. The car has already gone to the dealer's service and although they also heard the noise they couldn't find the reason and decided that it is normal. As there are very few DSG model in my city I have high expectations that somebody here has had a similar problem and has found the way to fix it! I have a feeling that the noise is connected to the DSG.

I love the YETI, but I can stand having something wrong with a brand new car!

Very much looking forward recieveing some expert advice on the above!

I have the same model, but I don't understand what the noise is you are referring to. What sound does it make? I have a rattle from the underside, but that was self inflicted - cracked rough rough package panel.

If you had heard the noise in 1st and 4th gear too, I would suspect something awry with the primary final drive. The top two gears use a different final drive. Other that that, admittedly very poor suggestion, I think an Skoda expert should listen.

It is difficult to explain with words the exact noise. It is as something is clicking or repositioning in the rear and happens when you are accelarating and suddently you take your foot off the accelarator pedal! The car has already been checked from bellow and the Skoda service experts said that they couldn't find anything!

The fault mechanics REALLY HATE is when you come in and complain about a noise that should not be there. They will do their best to convince you it is something you shall have to live with , as this is "normal".They will do the minimum effort to try and help you,max get the car on a lift and pretend to look for the origin of the sound.

This is a fact ,worldwide.

Mechanics dont like sounds because there is no profit to be made,I am sure.
